Andrew "Test" Martin found dead in Tampa
By PainLord

Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com and Mike Johnson of PWinsider.com are both reporting that Andrew "Test" Martin was found dead in his apartment in Tampa. Martin was 33 years old and was 4 days away from his 34th birthday. No other details are currently known. More info should be available soon.

Oh man that sucks big time! I really liked Test as a wrestler. Not the best actor in storylines but he made up for it in his matches.

We will all miss you Andrew, R.I.P.

There is really no news today, just on the passing.

J.R. Talks Andrew Martin - Reveals His Stint In Rehab Last Year
By Daniel Pena

SmackDown play-by-play announcer Jim Ross posted a blog on his official website remembering Andrew "Test" Martin, who was found dead in his Tampa apartment last night.

Ross is quite familiar with Martin as he hired him alongside two other Canadians in Adam "Edge" Copeland and Jay "Christian" Reso in the late 1990's.

"I hired Andrew in the same class with his other fellow Canadians Edge and Christian in the late 90's in an outstanding group of young talent whose advanced training was over seen by future WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk and by Tom Prichard," Ross wrote.

Ross recalls a conversation with Martin at WrestleMania XXIV last year in Orlando. The two spoke at length regarding his real estate endeavors and his plans to become a physical therapist. Martin also told Ross he saved his money and only wrestled "when he wanted to."

"Andrew had done well in WWE, saved his money, made some good investments, and told me he only wanted to wrestle when "he wanted to" which the randomly scheduled international tours would allow him to do," Ross wrote. "He did not express interest in the American indy scene and was genuinely excited about the prospects of the aforementioned physical therapy career."

In a bit of previously unreported news, Ross reveals that Martin took up World Wrestling Entertainment's offer to enter a rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida last August. At the suggestion of others, his former employer reached out to him to see if he needed some help handling some alleged personal issues that he was rumored to have been experiencing.

"The rumors of Andrew's issues were true and he was afforded the opportunity by WWE to attend The Hanley Center Rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida for several weeks beginning in August of 2008," Ross wrote. "Andrew successfully completed the WWE funded program and was highly regarded by the Hanley Center with being such an asset to them after completing the program of which Andrew took seriously, according to the facility. Since being released from the facility after successfully completing the program, Andrew had been doing well in his 12 Step AA program and was in contact with WWE with regular phone calls. Ironically, Friday was the day for his regularly scheduled "touching base" but when called his voice mail box was full."

It should be noted that Ross was not aware of Martin's alleged problems and stint in rehab until recently.

Ross concludes his post with the following note remembering Martin: "I will remember this young man as a bright, intelligent individual and am thankful that my last conversation with him was so positive and that he was excited about his future in a new field. Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans and may God rest his soul."

Recent Blog Post From Andrew Martin: Talks Recent Tour Of Japan
By Daniel Pena

Early last week, Andrew "Test" Martin posted a blog on his MySpace page talking about his recent tour of Japan, which included a bout with former TNA wrestler Lance Hoyt. He also noted plans to head to Europe for a wrestling tour throughout Europe on Monday.

Here is his blog post in its entirety:

Hey all! I just got back from Tokyo, Japan. I have been to Japan several times but this was by far the best trip there for a number of reasons.

First I must thank Mr. Aso who treated me beyond first class and is a total gentleman as well as a great human being himself. My trip there was first class all the way. Thanks to Mr. Ena for making my flight the best flight I had ever been on. Mr. Aso flew me first class on United airlines who I must thank the ladies on board, who kept feeding me steak and chicken every two hours. It ended up being about a 24 hour travel day. When I landed I was greeted by Mr. Yabe another kind and stand up man. We chatted for a bit and waited for Vader.

For those of you who do not know Leon (Vader) he is a total gentleman. I met Leon about ten years ago when I was training at Brets house he was kind to me then and was nothing but a gentleman to me now and we became good friends on this trip. Leon is a stand up guy and I want to thank him as well for a wonderfull trip.

Mr. Aso put us up in the Keio Plaza hotel which is one of the nicest hotels in tokyo. I want to thank Mr.Tiger Kihara who is one of the funniest guys I have met and a master at wrestling impressions and kept me laughing the whole time. Thanks to Golds gym who took great care of me there.

I worked my first match with Lance Hoyt. Lance is green but has a lot of promise and under the right guidance can have a great match because he is a good athlete. He needs to be in the WWE were I think he could learn and reach full potential...thanks Lance.

My second match was with a Japanese shooter named Nagai{hopefully I spelled that right} A totally diferant style but we had a great match together. He works almost as stiff as I do...lol.

I was very humbled by the reception from the Japanese fans. The Japanese people are so respectfull you can't help but love it there. I loved Japan for so many reasons and hope to makee it my wrestling home. Japan is so beautifull and full of things to do, I could see myself living there it was that much fun. Thanks again to Mr. Aso your a real gentleman and number one in my books.

On March 16th, I will be heading to Europe for two weeks in France, Sweden and Belgum. This is with the crew from Ireland. These guys hold a special place in my heart because they stuck by me when I was going thru some hard times and we all ended up becoming good friends. Great guys and fantastic people to work for, from Martin, to Mick, Joe, Jamie, Grant, Patty, Justin Shape, Lizzy, Anne, Ken, the whole crew are just great and I'm looking forward to this trip.

That's all for now..talk to you soon Andrew

Former WWE Star Says Drug Use Has Been Eliminated From WWE
By Daniel Pena

In an interview with sports website Fanhouse.com posted this morning, former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley says use of performance-enhancing drugs have been eliminated from World Wrestling Entertainment due to the company's drug testing policy.

When asked how prevalent performance-enhancing drugs are in the industry, the former ECW Champion said, "I don't think there's any now."

"They have a really, really, really strict testing policy in the WWE. I know that for a fact. So I know that there is no one who is really on anything now. I think in the past there were some."

Lashley believes some wrestlers used performance-enhancing drugs prior to the introduction of the company's drug testing policy, but not everyone.

"I think there used to be more wrestlers on something than there are now, but it's not like everyone was on something in professional wrestling," Lashley said. "Not at all."

Lashley also talks about his upcoming fight with Jason Guida, the cancellation of his previously scheduled fight with Ken Shamrock, his goals in MMA, and more. Click here to read the interview in its entirety.

Where do you get all this, Thre? Even my source doesn't know about Rey's misfortune.

We all know that WWE is strict on it, especially of what happened to Eddie.

What does performance-enhancing drugs do, anyways?

I never watched TNA, but I can tell Test was a popular guy. May he R.I.P.
As for Mysterios injury, thats not good... Will he able to make it to Wrestlemania?
Perfomance-enhancing drugs are like steroids, I belive....

Off topic a bit but...

Even NASCAR is cracking down extensively on Performance Enhancing Drugs as proof this is a serious issue.

# NASCAR Substance Abuse
# Competitors are asked to take a drug test if there is "reasonable suspicion."
# Anyone who obtains any kind of NASCAR license must sign an "authorization for testing and release" waiver each season.
# NASCAR can ask for samples of urine, blood, saliva, hair or breath tests if "reasonable suspicion" of drug use has been established.
# A number of NASCAR officials are trained to take and seal samples for testing, and all are versed in detecting signs of impairment.
# NASCAR encourages "whistle blowing" among its competitors to help police its substance abuse policy.
# NASCAR reserves the right to suspend a competitor based on a conviction for driving a passenger vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or a drug-related conviction.
# Competitors and officials are prohibited from consuming alcohol prior to or during a race.
# If a person fails a drug test and wants to return to racing, he or she must submit to a series of spot testing. The person being tested must pay for the examinations.
# If an individual is reinstated, NASCAR reserves the right to randomly test that individual.
# NASCAR does not recommend specific rehabilitation programs but strongly encourages self-help and treatment for those afflicted with a drug problem or alcohol abuse.

https://jayski.com/teams/drug-policy.htm

So far they got three crewmen so far.

As for Mysterios injury, thats not good... Will he able to make it to Wrestlemania?

As of this post he doesn't have a match at WrestleMania 25 and WWE aren't flying in people who won't/can't be used in order to save money so if the injury is legit he won't be taken to WrestleMania which gives him from now until after WrestleMania to heal.

Jim Ross Taken To Hospital Last Night; Diagnosed With Walking Pneumonia
Written by Ryan Gray

Jim Ross has posted a new blog on his official website, where he reveals that he spent last night in the emergency room with sharp pains in his upper left chest. He was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. He wrote the following:

I had an interesting day Saturday as I spent several hours in the emergency room with some sharp pains in my upper left chest. I had been experiencing these knife like pains for a few weeks but they also coincided with my return to the gym so I really didn't think any thing was that wrong. I made the mistake of mentioning this matter to my wife on Friday night and by Saturday morning I had no choice but to go to the hospital or be driven nuts by my over protective and loving bride. The diagnosis was walking pneumonia so it was a good thing that I followed her instincts. My Dad died of complications following a bout of pneumonia that went uncared for as Dad's lungs eventually filled with fluid which caused him heart failure at age 64. I plan on being in Corpus Christi Tuesday night for the last (thank goodness) Smackdown doubleheader of which the first program taped is Friday Night Smackdown # 500.

Concern Over Kip James' Status With TNA, Jacqueline Not At PPV
By Daniel Pena

source: prowrestling.NET

-- Conspicuous by his absence at last night's Destination X pay-per-view was Kip James as he was not in the corner of The Beautiful People. According to a TNA source, there is some concern that the company will not be renewing his contract as he's said to be on the bubble. His biggest supporter in the company is longtime friend BG James, who works as an agent backstage.

-- Jacqueline also didn't work last night's Destination X pay-per-view as she was not in the corner of Beer Money, Inc. for their match against Team 3D. However, the former WWE Women's Champion did appear at some house show events over the weekend. Her status with the company remains unclear, although we haven't heard anything about the company letting her go. However, several people within the company have questioned her spot with the company considering that a number of wrestler contracts were not renewed. On the other hand, she's known Jeff Jarrett for years, which should help her cause for employment.

"We love being sci fi and we're still embracing that," network president Dave Howe said. You keep the heritage, but also open up to a broader range of content."

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting police officers discovered prescription drugs, including painkillers and steroids in the apartment of Andrew "Test" Martin. Police were called to Martin's home when a neighbor had become suspicious after watching him lie motionless on a couch for hours.

Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said Martin was in the middle of a meal when he died as there was a half-eaten pizza and soda nearby his body.

As we have reported, officers do no suspect foul play. There were also no signs of trauma to Martin, said McElroy. "He was obviously very healthy, McElroy commented. The mystery of his death will likely be solved by his toxicology report."

WWE Releases Wrestler Sitting On The Sidelines
By Daniel Pena

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

It has been confirmed that Travis "Tyson" Tomko, 32, was released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment a few weeks ago. Tomko re-signed with the company in November.

Tomko's first match back in the company was a dark match prior to the December 15, 2008 episode of Raw in a winning effort over Paul Burchill. However, he was greatly limited by a torn pec and Vince McMahon thought he looked terrible during his lone outing. The former TNA World Tag Team Champion looked noticeably soft during the match.

WWE's Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis took a lot of heat over signing Tomko. There was a feeling he should have had a full medical exam before signing him to see if there was a major injury.

Man, Test passed away. That sux, while he never did capture the push he had from his first stint in WWE, it is never good to hear that kind news.

I don't know why Vince keeps Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis) on the pay roll, I mean he has caused so many problems with wrestlers its not funny. Even Matt Hardy has said that John is the reason he was let go after the whole Edge/Matt/Lita thing. Even JBL takes pot shots at him. I even heard rumors he was trying to sign TNA Talent at Eddie Guerrero's funeral. I dont know man I just dont like him and it seems he angers the McMahons a lot. Example of when he was on Bubba the Love Sponge and gave a list of possible HOF inductees in 2007 to Hogan over the phone.

As far as Christian, I think he will get a push, you don't take a person who is as decorated as Christian and turn him into nothing, that is bad buisness, plus he got such a huge response on his return. My question is why are they pushing Jack Swagger so much.

So, who do you think is gonna win the Money in the Bank match? Im exited about this match. xD

Before I read that Vince cares more about his doormat than Christian my pick was Christian, but now it's Kane.

A while back Kane said he wanted one more World Championship run before he retired and this is a good opportunity for it to start taking place.

I LOL-ed there. xD
I want Kane to win. Is he still a heel? Haven't seen RAW in a while
I want Cristian to win, though, because he just came back to the WWE

You know what WWE should do. Get rid of ECW altogether. Send all the Extremist to RAW or Smackdown, and start clean. That will stop the hassle, and maybe they wont have to fire so many people. xD

McMahon Was Against Putting Christian In MITB
By Daniel Pena

source: www.pwtorch.com

-- Vince McMahon is still not a big supporter of Christian as he was initially against putting the ECW Superstar in the Money in the Bank Match at WrestleMania XXV. According to a well-placed source, agents and writers had to talk McMahon into putting Christian in the match. Christian is said to be close with Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz among others involved in the creative process.

With that being said, a possible Christian win at WrestleMania should not be ruled out as McMahon has been in a swerve mode as of late as he enjoys delivering the opposite of what people expect these days. He's upset over people within his company leaking info to the wrestling media, hence his mood.

TNA Pulling Three Workers Off Television
Written by Richard Gray

WrestlingNewsWorld has learned both Kip James and Jacqueline Moore are going to be phased out as on-air personalities on TNA television which is why they were not at Destination X or at this week's Impact tapings.

Steve Gerweck is reporting that Roxxi is also being pulled off television and the decision to take all three off was made by Dixie Carter, not Jeff Jarrett. According to Gerweck, the decision was not well received and Jarrett has been taking the majority of the blame.
