Hello everyone, I haven't been here in some time now, but I recently started rom hacking again! Please note, I'm still a bit of an amature so forgive me.. Anyway, I was using the tool Advanced Pokémon Sprite editor to import a cool fakemon sprite I found. I have an image that is 64x256 of all 4 sprite versions, (front, shiny front, back, shiny back.) so normally whenever I do this, I take the 64x256 of the pokemon and click import all, then synchronise it's pallet. This always works with actual released pokemon, even pokemon that were not in 3rd gen (x and y sprites.) But if I ever use a pokemon that was not released, it wont work. So using the fake sprite, I click import all, and that works, the pokemon looks normal. But I'm supposed to synchronise the pallet to give it the correct colors, but when doing so it just makes it different and darker colors... Anyone know why when I use a fake pokemon sprite and try to synchronise its pallets, it doesn't work? Help appreciated! Btw, using FireRed.

    Thanks,

I haven't used Advanced Pokémon Sprite editor, so I don't know if it needs the sprites indexed or not, but I would try indexing the sprites before importing them.

To do this use NSE (Nameless Sprite Editor 2.X) or Generation III hack suite, i feel like the tool you're using is a bit outdated and outperformed.

Wow I had no idea NSE released a new version... The version I was using still only had trainers and trainer back sprites -_-
Anyway thanks for the help, got it working with the *new* NSE :)
