5th Gen Professor Araragi - General Discussion Thread

I really like the idea that we finally have a female professor for a reigon. It makes a nice change & gives a sense of any gender can achieve anything, even in the PokeWorld.

As for her role, I think it will probably be the same as previous roles, I have a feeling she may specialise in the effects of triple battling or something along those lines? Idk.

I thought of that gender thing too, although not in the way as u XD i was thinking more like, a group of radical feminists invaded GF or something in that style :P
But anywhwhays, it is nice to see a change from all those nerdy and old boring professors.

Having a female professor really shows that Black and White is in for some different, new things. Sometimes change can have a positive effect on things, and this I see as one of them. I notice that GameFreak is finally beginning to understand we need alterations and that too much of the same thing every generation can get a bit tedious. Although, this is just a partial piece of the game, while we still have the rest to compare; some things should remain the same after so long, but a female professor is one change that has been long overdue.

My answers to those are in bold.

I guess you're right, there are some things to speculate, but none of it is going to be that significantly important in the games.

But that's only my opinion.

He pretty much summed up this thread with this post.

All Pokemon Professor's had nearly identical roles in every Pokemon Game.

They give you your first pokemon, your pokedex, guide you along your journey and that's basically it.

The fact that she is a Female is probably the only new thing to talk about here but that can easily be done.

"Hey you guys, the new Pokemon Professor is a girl!"

"Wow that is awesome!"

Anything else?:knockedou

^^ I agree, but I'm kinda upset. Stopped pokemon for two months and still no new news on the ONE thing I desire the most. D:

Well, you're somewhat close. Remember the dummied-out Prof. Oak battle in Red?

Anyways, I hope the professor does more than tell you that they want to know about the Pokemon in the region and to collect information on them. It's been like that since day one, imagine if Araragi was the League Champ? O.o
Well if she were the League champ she doesn't look like the other champs, unless she has Champion clothing that are Elegant like those of Lance, Steven, Wallance, and even Cynthia either that or she is like Blue, normal style...

I really like the idea of having a female professor. All the other pokemon games seem to favor males, so this is nice to see :)

True. I liked having men though, it was funny. I just hope her last name doesn't translate into a plant, that would ruin the running joke. :(

I like the last name Willow, but does she have to have a plant related last name? I mean, what gives the assumption that she will?

Well, Oak, Elm, Birch, Ivy and Rowan are all types of trees/plants.
So according to tradition, she'll have a plant/tree name too. XD

I'm gonna go with Prof. Orchid on this one. Sounds the most likely to me.

Hmmm, Orchid. I like it :) The only thing is, it's a bit too predictable.
I'm going to say Prof. Briar or Prof. Hadely;
BRIAR: English unisex name derived from the plant 'briar', from Old English brer, meaning "prickly bush."
HADELY: English surname transferred to unisex forename use, composed of the Old English elements hæð "heathland, heather, wasteland" and leah "clearing, field, meadow" hence "heather meadow."

Or even Acacia, or Ayame

I don't see them naming her "prickly bush" or "wasteland meadow." XD But I like Orchid still. And it's not all that predictable in my opinion, I mean with how many tress there really are.

What about Sakura it means Cherry blossom ;)

I love that name! Sakura... like the millions of manga/anime characters named sakura. She does look kinda like CLAMP's sakura... XD

Or maybe she can specialize in moves, more specifically the new Move combo's...

Ah, you beat me too it.

With this new info of combi-moves, I'm pretty sure that Moves, or even Battles, is what Professor Araragi specializes in.
