INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT VOIDHACK:
We are a Skype-based group that has just begun looking into the world of hacking as a story-telling medium. We are very new to hacking and as such we are looking for experienced hackers, particularly scripters and mappers.
We are looking for people who will follow directions, take initiative when necessary, and are literate in their field of work.
tl;dr version: We want hard workers.
As a Skype-based group, it would be highly encouraged for you to download Skype in order to participate. Skype is where we will exchange most if not all of our advice, constructive criticism, and ideas for the hack. (It's also where we have silly nonsense conversations, but that's not really relevant right now.)

Synopsis:
POKEMON VOIDSPACE
Based off of: Pokemon Ruby
Completion: 1%
Synopsis:
A boy and his mother travel to a relative's house in order to escape from an unnamed war. Things take a turn for the surreal when his little cousin reports seeing large shadows outside her window. At first it seems like child's play, but when the main character finds himself in a PokeCenter with a mysterious injury and news reports of his missing cousin, he knows this is no longer a game. Armed with his mother's Pokemon and a new ability to see the unseen, it becomes a race against time as the main character rushes to find his cousin before things become too otherworldly.
This will be a game with completely original fakemon, maps, and storyline.
So You Want to Join: What We Need
Spoiler:
(In order from most to least important)
Scripters: (INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED+) We need scripters, and badly. There is no way we'll be able to get this project off the ground without a scripter that is advanced or intermediate in the very least. You will have to run directly off the storyboard that is kept in the Dropbox. There is a very specific way we want this game to feel, and we really need someone to help us put our dream into motion. You can change things if you don't think they would feasibly work, but we want this to run very close to our original idea.
Mappers: (INTERMEDIATE+) Like scripters, we need one or two mappers. Most of the time the storyboard will have instructions on how we want the map to look. You'll want to reference that before you start making maps, but you have some freedom in creating custom blocks and the likes.
Spriters: (INTERMEDIATE+) While we do already have one or two spriters, we'll need more if we want to replace the entire PokeDex. However, we don't want quick, crappy sprites you could make in five seconds using Paint. The sprites must be high quality. See the examples above to get an idea of what we expect.
Music Composers: (BASIC+) In an ideal world, this hack would have a completely original score. However, the music is low priority in comparison to the mechanics, the sprites, and the maps. Don't take this to mean we don't want someone to compose music for us -- we'd love it! It's just not very high-priority.
You'll get mostly free-reign with your music, but keep in mind the music will need a bit of a darker tone to it. We'll give you suggestions and constructive crit if it's needed, but for the most part you get to run free.
