Pronunciation for "Arceus"

R-sus is mine.

[S-HIGHLIGHT]Remember, there is NO right/wrong answers.[/S-HIGHLIGHT]

(Why'd my original post get deleted?)

Yeah, maybe in your world... In my world 1+1=2 not 1+1=7.

Just because it refers to Zeus doesn't mean it's (Ar-Soose), (Ar-Suse), etc. it IS (Arr-See-Us),
but feel free to think otherwise because there is NO right/wrong answers everyone's opinions are different. ;)

The Prefix "Arc-" means Arcangel and Deus/Zeus

Ar-see-us

Because Ar-key-us sounds strange :S

Before I figured out it's "Arc" and not "Acr", like I thought it was, I pronounced it "Ache-ree-us". Oops.

If thats its Japanese name also, then it would be pronoucned 'ar-say-us', technically. Just because of how the Japanese pronouce E's. But just looking at the name, when I didn't know too much about the Pokemon, I thought it was pronounced 'ar-see-us'. That's still how I say it, most of the time.

Arkayus doesn't make any sense. o_O Why would you pronounce it that way?

Latin influence since 'deus' is pronounced 'day-uhs,' but I just like the hard c sound better, assuming it came from 'arch.'

...even though the Japanese version says Arseus. Oh well.

Arceus's name may come from the words arch (highest) and deus, which is Latin and Greek for god. It may also have a root in the Latin word arcanus, which means secret; sacred mystery. Arceus's name may also come from the word archaic (ancient), which comes from the Greek arkhaios. It could have also come from the Latin word archetypus (original). Alternatively, Arceus's name can be seen as a portmanteau of Zeus, the most powerful of Greek gods and arch (highest).

In alchemy, Archeus, or archaeus, is a term used generally to refer to the lowest and most dense aspect of the astral plane which presides over the growth and continuation of all living beings.

I pronounce ARCEUS as:

are-SHE-iss*

I don't know the grammatic pronunciation and don't see how such things matter.

*I kinda sound like I say it as "yar-SHE-iss", but that would be the way I speak.

Ar-Cu-rus

Are - Q - us :D
