Beneath Fortree city, many pokemon live abundantly and freely, having not trouble with the humans that live above. About 5 years ago, a 10 year old silver haired child appeared in that forest, with no parents or relatives to claim him, or even any idea of how he got there. The pokemon, as if given direct orders from someone or something, brought him food and cloths, as had been done in the other region, Sinnoh, where he had been "born". Occasionally, he would take small trips into the city, just to explore his new surroundings, and as he did, his presence became more widely known in the region, as "The boy who could slow time." -------------------
Holding up the letter in my hand to my face, I waved the small Tailow away, thanking it. Usually, I didn't get any mail; stuff like mortgage and water bill shut off warnings. This was of course because I didn't live in a tree house like the others in the city, but rather slept in trees, that kind of thing. "Birch huh?... that's that professor dude right?" I asked the white blue striped Umbreon sitting beside me, which seemed to stare right back at my face with a "How should I know?" expression. I smirked, poking its forehead and snickering, "Well your no help."
Squinting, I began to read the words on the weathered paper, slipping up a few times because of so many of the same colored letters in the same place. Most people wouldn't really understand it, so I guess it was a one time incurable thing for me, too bad. "So, I gotta get to Little Root, where this Professor Birch is located? Hmm..." Not to far off, cleaning it's white and dark blue feathers, the Tailow I had just sent off was perched. "Oi, Tailow, you think you could get your dad to do me a favor?!" It turned its head to one side, and then took off, and I didn't even think it was coming back until a huge Swellow, swooped in and perched on the branch, and a few seconds later the small Tailow poked its head out from behind its fathers neck, staring at us.
"Ah... thanks, that will work..." I said as I began climbing up the trunk of the tree, as if it were as natural to me as climbing stairs. As I sat on its back, It turned its head to look at me, and I nodded, grinning slightly. "Lets go visit the professor!" As the Swellow took off, I had to cling to its neck to stay on it, but as it reached a comfortable height it reserved itself to gliding, and I was able to relax a bit. Looking down, I got my first view of the region from above, and it was, as best a word I can think to describe it, was simply awesome.

Standing at the door of professor Birch's lab, I waved goodbye to the parting Swellow. When it's form was out of site, I turned to the doors of the lab and took a deep breath, before walking through the doors. As I looked around, my face bore a very fascinated expression, for there were all these weird gadgets and weird lab tech guys around, all talking in weird scientifical-mathamatical theories and equations, it made my brain hurt just to listen. I clapped my hands tight over my ears, so I wouldn't have to hear all of their chatter, until I reached the back of the lab. Professor Birch himself was at the back, writing something on a clipboard and muttering to himself.
When I was close enough, I held up an open hand, extending a greeting," Yo, what's up professor? I got your letter, so I got here as fast as the Swellow could take me. Anyway, I hear you have a pokemon for m-" I paused as I saw 5 pokeballs missing from the container, which left only two, not much of a choice, but that's what I get huh?
As soon as he heard me speak, he looked up from the clip board, with a confused look on his face. "Huh? Who are you...?" He paused slightly as he noticed the silver color of my hair, and smile lightly. "You would be... Skyzarin... correct?"
I flinched as I heard my full name, growling a bit while I worked it over in my mind. How did he know my real name... I never told anyone... well except Jake... but that was in Sinnoh, so how the hell did it get all the way over here?! Not really seeing my slight shock, he continued, "Yes, I did send out a letter addressed to you, as well as several others... As you can see, five have already been here, so there are only two left, sorry."
I laughed slightly and put up a hand to show a thumbs up. " It's okay! Anyway... lets see... heh, this is kinda like Russian roulette, except I don't die no matter what I chose! How bout this one!" I exclaimed as I held up the pokeball in my hand. Tossing it into the air, I caught it again and started to spin it on my pointer finger. After a few seconds, I pressed the button in the center of the pokeball, releasing the pokemon inside it. As the surging red beam solidified into a avian form, it dispersed, leaving a black and white pokemon with a yellow beak in its place.
The bird was kinda chubby, and it was only about a foot tall, perfect size! I approached it carefully and knelt down in front of it, holding out my hand. The bird tilted its head to one side, and hopped up my arm, settling on my shoulder. I turned to smile at it, and in the corner of my eye saw the professor typing something in his phone, but I didn't dwell on it too much, probably just a performance test or something. "What's your name buddy?" I asked, and the bird unfurled both of its wings and squawked out, saying "Chirpich! Chirp!" I grinned, using my finger to scratch the spot under its beak before turning back to the professor who was holding out his hand to give me something.
"This is a pokedex, it records the data of the pokemon you see and capture. Only seeing the pokemon won't record the full data of it, so in order to complete the description, you should try and capture that species." I nodded, accepting the pokedex and was about to place it in my bag when I realized I didn't have one. "Don't worry about a bag Sky, there is a pokemart in Odale, and I have prepped a package for you, that should include one. Now, go on and begin your journey, and take good care of m- I mean your pokemon!"
Grinning, I waved goodbye and exited the lab, heading in the general direction of Odale. When I was outside of Littleroot, I caught motion out of the corner of my eye; it was Chirpich, ruffling its feathers as if something was worrying it. It wasn't long before I heard the noise that was unsettling it, and I sighed, looking at Chirpich for a moment before taking off in the direction of the screaming person. Hopefully, my pokemon would be able to handle it...
