My Pokecommunity name is Aeroblast, but my real life name is John, though sometimes people call me Jay. I am 19 years old, and am currently a sophomore in university majoring in Computer Science. As you can tell, I love programming, especially in Java. I also like Mathematics and solving mathematical problems because I like numbers (eww). I also get sort of personal imaginary "bragging rights" when I solve difficult problems.

So enough about my academia, let's get into some background about myself. I was born in Seattle, but moved to Seoul just about couple months later, in where I spent the next 10 years of my life in. Then my mom suddenly decided to move to United States with me to pursue higher quality of education (I have no doubt she thought it for a long time - just that I didn't know about it until only around a week before we had to move out). I was extremely sad because I had to leave behind my childhood so suddenly, and most importantly other half of my family, my father and my sister, and it was a steep learning curve in my life. I had difficult time adjusting to life in Maryland, where I still currently live in. However, I still eventually got used to my new life and am now thankful to my parents for providing me the opportunity to succeed in a place outside of Korea where stiff competition runs rampant and there's not a lot of room for international success if you don't finish first place in your school. My father will come to United States this summer, so we will finally be "reunited" for the first time in nine years as well.

    Other facts/trivia about me.
-I am a very serious person in general.
-I don't take jokes well, not because I'm offended by them, but because I rarely find them funny and they tend to ruin any serious conversations.
-When I do joke about in the first place, though, it means I'm comfortable talking to you. But I still tend to steer clear of joking in the middle of a serious conversation.
-I am a meticulous person when it comes to... pretty much anything insignificant and/or new. For example, if I get a new 3DS, I'll treat it like it's my only child, but neglect it months after.
-I tend to, or actually like to be a party pooper. I can be a total dick that way, but don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against anybody.
-I am a fairly quiet person, though not exactly shy. Except when it comes to trying something new.
-I love being able to boast about pretty much anything. But who doesn't?
-I'm the last person to compliment on anything.
-I hate reading for an extended period of time. (i.e. 30+ mins)
-Lugia is my favorite Pokemon, though I'm sure most, if not all of you know by now. Zangoose is my second favorite.
-Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver is still currently right up there as my favorite Pokemon game. Hit me right in my childhood.
-I am a proud owner of Playstation 4.
-Football is my favorite sport. (the one that you actually use your feet 99% of the time, if you know what I'm talking about)
-FC Bayern München is my favorite football club. Haters gonna hate.
-My favorite food is french fries. Especially waffle fries.
-I am a gamer, though I don't play as much recently due to schoolwork.
-I don't like spending money. (who does anyways?)
-When I do spend money, I tend to go all out in a short period of time.
-I am Korean, though oddly enough I don't follow KPop at all. I don't watch Korean dramas, either.
-I am single, but I don't care about any sort of relationships, at least for now.
-I do dig hot chicks, though... but what kind of guy doesn't? (OK... there are gay people, but I guess there's an exception to everything)
    -I am straight.
-I am not interested in politics, for the most part.
-That being said, though, my lifelong wish is Korean reunification.
-I am fluent in Korean and English. I am currently learning German.

Feel free to ask away for any questions regarding anything about myself. After all, that's what this thread is about.

You have a crazy high posts/day for someone who just joined and you're already a supporter. What is it about PC that's drawn you in so much?

    There are couple things.

For one, I think this forum is mature for something like a Pokemon forum, and maybe even for any of the other forums I've visited. Everybody is nice and made me feel welcome though I've said this dozen times already across the forum so I guess there's no point for me to belabor this any further.

Now to get a bit more personal, my life has been a bit empty and there's nothing much for me to do for the rest of the summer, especially since my mom cancelled the 2 week trip to San Francisco that I was looking forward to for whatever god forsaken reason. Once college semester starts I'll probably be focusing on my studies more than I'll pay attention to Pokecommunity as much as now.

    Word you're a John? I'm a John too! o/

By party pooper do you mean troll? Do you do things for the lulz?

What are your thoughts about relationships in general and your own love life in particular?

You say you dig hot chicks. Personally I wouldn't apply that to myself. What do you mean when you say that?

Do people ever treat you cool just cuz you're Korean?

Holy god waffle fries i don't think i've ever had those. How else do you like your potatoes?

What's it like living in Maryland? How do you compare it to other places in the States?

What are your views on the US - what it is and what it stands for? Does your identity as a Korean-American colour your views?

I know. becase stalker I've seen fellow PC members call you John as well.

By party pooper do you mean troll? Do you do things for the lulz?
I do like trolling my friends about pretty much anything, unless it's something serious. Aside from that, when someone is in a good mood or some good thing happen to them, I feel some sort of urge to be a jackass. For example, if someone had their **th birthday, I'd tell them they're one step closer to death or something stupid/mean like that, albeit in a sarcastic tone. I actually don't say these things often for obvious reasons but I'm not afraid of saying them when I do.

What are your thoughts about relationships in general and your own love life in particular?
My love life is non-existent for now (boooo), because I don't want a relationship to bring more stress to an imporant part of my life. Let me show you what I mean - One of my friends had 3 girlfriends and broke up with each one of them and now has a 4th one. Doesn't that seem stressful?

I also don't believe I'm ready for a serious relationship yet.

You say you dig hot chicks. Personally I wouldn't apply that to myself. What do you mean when you say that?
It might look like I'm contradicting myself from my earlier answer, but if I see a cute or hot girl in real life I can't take my eyes off of them and want to get near them. Will I pursue a serious relationship with any of them? No, but sometimes my instincts gets above my better judgment and I lose sense of reality for a brief moment and randomly stare at hot chicks. Call me creepy, who cares... but this all leads to an anticlimax - I forget about it 10 minutes later.

Do people ever treat you cool just cuz you're Korean?
    Nope.

Holy god waffle fries i don't think i've ever had those. How else do you like your potatoes?
Usually fried. Sometimes I bake and eat them it with some topping.

What's it like living in Maryland? How do you compare it to other places in the States?
It's quite boring... bit like countrysides in Korea in some places. Big cities here (e.g. Baltimore, D.C.) don't feel anything like Seoul, however. The closest place in United States to feeling like Seoul is areas of southwestern DC (i.e. Fairfax, Annandale, etc.). That area probably houses the biggest Korean community in the entirety of US.

Now outside of Maryland... I have vacationed in Utah and Las Vegas once, which obviously feels nothing like Maryland. I've visited California for a short time because I was visiting Disneyland, but I've only been there fore like a day so I can't say for sure. I've also been up to Niagara Falls and parts of Canada (Toronto, Montreal, etc.) once before, but it's already been 9 years since I've visited there so I can't give you any clear opinions.

What are your views on the US - what it is and what it stands for? Does your identity as a Korean-American colour your views?
I'll leave this until tomorrow or the day after as this question makes me think more than the others. I will have an answer on this question, though.

Lemme get in a couple before you figure out what 'murca means and all.

Do you dig Korean food? What's your favourite? A friend of mine digs gamjatang and I really loove bibimbap. Or tteokbokki hmmm decisions decisions

Do you feel bad that you have such an interest in girls but don't feel like dating them?

There are a lot of Korean foods I know that I can't translate to English so I'll "cut to the chase" here: I enjoy any form of soft "rice cakes." Tteokboki is definitely one, I sometimes "combine" them with pre-packaged Ramen noodles. Kimchi is one of the only ways I can stomach any sort of vegetables. I also enjoy Korean short ribs (galbi).

To an extent. I can't have all the nice things in this world I guess, but real commitment is not something I want at the moment and I'm not a "friends with benefits" kind of person.

Hey there, so here i go:

Would you say you feel more korean or american?

Waffle fries sound amazing!! Ive never heard of them before, so what exactly are they?

Ive been born in Germany and ive lived there for 21 years, which makes me curious:
Why did you chose to learn german? Do you find the language to be difficult or easy?

    How about a favorite dessert?

Would you say you feel more korean or american?
At the moment, I feel more like an American, though it's hard to say because I'm still 100% Korean if I'm only counting on my heritage. I've lived in the United States almost as much as I did in Korea at this point. I think that I've learnt more here than I did in Korea as well.

They're just french fries with different shape. This is what they look like:
    Spoiler:

If I'm being honest, foreign language is a requirement in my university. If you want to delve deeper, though, personally I think it'll be most useful for me next to English; I could possibly pursue future education in Germany after my uncle and cousin, or even go on to live there. Some wishful thinking.

I also like watching football (the one you actually play with your foot 99% of the time). FC Bayern München is my favorite club as I've said in the OP; I got introduced to Bundesliga and Bayern München by an exchange student from Germany I met during freshman year of high school. While I unfortunately lost most memories about him as time went, this is the one thing that I can remember. Having said that, though, I probably wouldn't have cared about football at all if we (Korea) didn't have a magical performance in World Cup 2002, where ironically enough Germany knocked us out of the competition following Oliver Kahn's godly performance in goal.

Well, I went pretty off tangent there - This is definitely not the first time I'm learning a new language, though. There's the obligatory English I learnt in Korea (Korean is my first language), and then in high school I've tried learning French but I've never gotten interested. So far I'm liking German, but I've only started learning verb conjugations and asking questions.

    How about a favorite dessert?
Hard to decide between KitKat and Oreos. I'll go with KitKat personally, difficult choice.

    P.S. - Kanzler, I will get to your question, don't worry :p

I know how you feel, me personally ive been born in germany but my parents are from Spain and Italy, so although i feel somewhat german, its not as "strong" as my feeling towards spain and italy.

Those fries look amazing, ill have to get them one day!

Oh yeah, i remember you mentioned liking Bayern. They definitely have an awesome Team, and i think that with Guardiola as a Coach they will evolve be even better. And i remember the World Cup you are talking about, although i was very young at that time. Actually, your country knocked out my 2 countries before losing to Germany...

Another question if you feel like answering it: What is in your opinion the biggest difference between the korean and american culture?

Also, what places would you like to visit and why?

Italy and Spain won the World Cup later so it's not a big issue for you now though, is it?

The thing I worry about Guardiola is that he might jump the ship as soon as things go remotely sour. He left FC Barcelona after Real Madrid pipped them to the league as well. As high above the cloud nine as we are right now, this period of success not going to last forever.

I've noticed that Americans are much more casual than Koreans in general, though that's just me.

Also, what places would you like to visit and why?
I want to visit Europe personally. Our family has never, ever set foot on those parts of the world and we (at least I) want to change that. We were set for a trip to Europe this summer actually, but currently it looks like that plan is hanging by a thread.

@Kanzler: I'll cut to the chase, I think South Koreans are forever indebted to United States and the influence it had on our country. Sorry I can't really give you a more detailed answer right now, but I can explain in depth as to why I think that way. (Or maybe you can figure it out?)
