    Hey, how's that idea?
    I'll host a championship, you'll fight eachother and me, I'll set up the bracket and stuff, winner gets honor and perhaps some reward, I don't know yet. Remember this is just alpha phase, no actual battles are being held. I just want to know how many people approximately would play, so that I can start planning. (I'd hold a championship with only 4 people, or with 40 people. I wouldn't mind.)

    So yeah sign up here!

    perhaps include timezone, available times, etc.
    What's also cool is writing what type of trainer ya are, but you can keep that a secret of course.
    I'm a dark-type trainer. Give me a hard time with fairies and fighting type Pokémon.

    So this tournament will like, get gym trainers(said like that, cause of types)
    Like, everyone picks a type, or is given a type.
    Not fully, like you can have 1 or 2 counter pokemons in it to defend yourself from easy defeat.

    nah, not gym leaders. I just like the game a lot more if you're raising a single type. Some players have an affinity to fire type (my friend) and thus raises like 3 dualtype fires.
    But feel free to have a fully all-rounded team.

    Rule type is more like 1 - 3 pokemon, handicap yes or no, etc.

    so it's nice to see so many GMT players, so far we have 4 challangers including me, so that sounds nice! I'll send y'all a message when I decide on some more things. But seeing how early you guys replied to me, it seems like we're gonna have ourselves a big party.

    BTW anyone suggestions on a reward?

    I can tell you why. There are maybe 30 occasional wifi battlers here (I'm fairly confident that there's actually around 15). Out of that 30, there are probably 7 or 8 or so who battles often. You'd have to come up with something sufficiently tempting to grab the attention of the less-than-30 people wandering by. That's why no wifi league will work on PC right now. That's also why you won't find large tournaments.

    If you really wanna gain an idea of how many battlers you might be able to expect, your best bet is to look at the numbers for past tourneys. And even so, the numbers are badly skewed because for the past year, it's mostly been just me and Necrum throwing up tourneys and goading the chat regulars to sign up so ACTUAL numbers are probably closer to like, 8. (Actually, you can't look up the past year because it's been thrown into archives. Nevermind.)

    At the moment, the reason why there isn't much interest in tournaments is because a fair number of tournaments getting posted aren't very well organized or thought out. And a lot of battlers won't bother with signing up without some sort of inducement. Also, everyone's busy at school. /shrug
