Hello all, just got back into actually collecting cards, and have immediately turned my attention to cards that feature Shiny Pokemon.

Long story short, after obtaining various cards featuring Shinies, I've noticed one of the Secret Rare subsets from the Boundaries Crossed era changes drastically.

I have Chandelure and Hydreigon secret rares from the first couple of sets in that era, Foil, textured picture of the Pokemon, nice looking cards. THEN, I have a Sigilyph, from the same subset of Shiny Secret Rares, but in addition to the Pokemon itself being foil and textured, the border is as well.

My question is, when did this change occur to this subset, and are the secret rare Chandelure and Hydreigon available with Foil textured borders as well, or was this a mid-series design change for the secret rares?

If I'm deciphering what you're putting down correctly, the transition happened with the release of the actual Boundaries Crossed set. Anything without holo borders in the Black & White sets was released before the Japanese equivalent to Boundaries Crossed, anything with holo borders was released simultaneously with the Japanese equivalent to Boundaries Crossed.
