I'm pretty sure you can only get the Super Rod in the Fishing Guru's house, south of Lavender Town.

Also, no, Steelix and Scizor don't evolve by leveling up. You need to have Onix or Scyther hold Metal Coat and trade them.

You get the metal coat on the S.S. Anne after you find the guy's Granddaughter who was "playing" with the captain. He gives it to you as a reward for helping him.

Mew must be traded from Red, Blue, or Yellow.

i thought i get super rod in Johto not kanto....

Sorry, but it is Kanto, like mentioned above. :/

so... can i trade from like the color versions to the metal versions...?

Absolutely. What you can't do is trading between the Metal/Color gens and the Advance ones, but between R/B/Y and G/S/C there is no problem at all.

Just get a link cable and then trade them over holding a metal coat but ......... how will you get a scizor or stelix in red, blue and green?

You can't. When you trade over those Pokemon, they won't evolve, and the RBGY cartridge will assume it's not holding an item (because there were no hold items back then). I don't believe it'll evolve if you trade back to GSC, either, as you can't have Gen II moves or Pokemon in your party when you enter the trade room with a Gen I game. (Bill explains this after he repairs the Time Capsule, which is what you use to trade between Gen I and Gen II, rather than the normal trading rooms.)

    ok one more thing!!!

how do i get the poke flute to wake up snorlax? thanx y'all!!!

You are suppose to get an expansion card from the Kanto Radio Tower in Lavender Town. You need to restore the power back to Kanto first before doing this. Have you at least done this part?
