Questions..

If you're talking about the Simple Questions threads in the Gaming forums, we've used this setup for years and it's worked fine the whole time. You can always search the threads for keywords related to your question so you don't have to sift through irrelevant answers.

Maybe this should have been sent to an admin

But anyway the diffrent help areas are there to stop loads of spam in one area if you struggle ask for help :)

Not trying to discount what you're saying, but it's usually easy enough to search keywords one or two pages back if you're having that much trouble finding your answer. Yes, it's true that some get ignored, and you won't be penalized for asking the same question again if you know with certainty that your question hasn't been answered after a few days, but threads asking definite-answer questions are unacceptable in any forum because of the fact that many members in the pokemon game forums have the tendency to reply to a thread with the answer, even if many other people have done the same, and when enough of these threads arise, it ends up being a postcount +1 grab for members who are enticed by it.

It's a no, sorry...we're definitely sympathetic to your problem (It's happened to me one or two times), but the people who would abuse such a forum ruin the idea for everyone else x_x

*muses* It might be useful to maintain a list of already-answered questions though...

o O; Y'mean, a huge FAQ that holds all the answered questions? That's not a bad idea, it could be put in the Pokemon Technical Institute probably. But the thing is, who'll run it? Updating it every question is .. a hard work. < <

Not the answers, but just what question was asked, and a link to its answer.

But what if the question has multiple reasonable answers? I've been there before and all I did was pretty much search until I found it, even though sometimes they weren't the answers I needed x.x

How about just putting a thread with a couple of links to really good FAQs from other sites?

Ok, let me inform you all about the trouble your ideas would cause.

OverTheBelow, I close about two threads a day that are Simple Questions. The Simple Questions thread gets a lot of posts in a day. If we got rid of Simple Questions thread there would be SOO many threads created in a day to ask questions. There would be too many threads for the kind people to answer. Then people would be bored to answer those threads. Then no questions would be answered. I would have to answer all the question, and I would get no rest. Simple Questions is great, and I know for a fact the people in there do answer questions.

Of course, if your question was ignored in Simple Questions or you cannot find the answer, I always am open to help over PM. That is one of the good benefits I try to bring to the game forums.

Jedi_Amara, I have tried to make a list of frequently asked questions for about six months. However, I do have a life outside of PC that I must tend to. But to tell you the truth I would not want to scavage through a list of previous questions asked when an easier way would be to click search and type in a keyword to find a question's answer. It just isn't ethical. And to find every link when it was asked is even more pain on me poor shoulders.

Searching does work 98% of the time, if you search under the right keywords.

Example: If your question was, "How do I Berry Blender?", keywords would be berry and blender. And when searched you could find many threads and even Simple Questions(Past and Present) with Berry Blender involved.

Chibi-chan, I have no negative issues with linking to other FAQs, but some people want their answer then and now. And I don't think it is right to say "Well, you joined PC to ask a simple question, so let me direct you to a FAQ." FAQ's on the net are long and hard to find information 95% of the time. It is easier to just pop in, ask a question, and get a quick answer. You really have to remember that many of the people who join PC are coming to ask a question on Pokemon games. They joined, and I want to give them hospitality in knowing their question was answered. Not that we shooed them elsewhere.

You all may have your opinions on this topic, but until you have worked in these forums for about a half a year you don't know how hard my job is. I know my forums better than anyone because I give them total TLC. My number one goal is to help people in my forums, and with some of your suggestions would make my goals poo. So unless I am told otherwise, the Pokemon Handheld and Console games forums will be run the same way they have been since Simple Questions was introduced in them.

Thank you very much, and have a nice day.

Beep, I think she meant it that we KEEP the Simple Questions, with all the answered questions archived in the FAQlike thing.

Get more people? Shanecdavis and all those constant answerers?

Keep a guideline to search?

Next bit is true. Finding a FAQ is like going to an actual FAQ site and not having to waste time at the registration processes.

You're welcome, and same to you? o O;
My two cents, and that's all my opinion's worth. > <
