Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

While we're on the subject of Drifloon - it's not appearing for me on Platinum. I just beat Team Galactic today, and it's Friday. Is there a loophole where it doesn't appear on the day you beat them, but not until the Friday after?

You'll have to wait a week before it will appear. It won't appear on the same day that you defeat Mars if it's a Friday.

Also to add to what Gear said above - you can SR for shininess on any Pokémon that you encounter yourself or get as a gift. This does not include Wondercard Pokémon, as it is impossible to get a shiny WC.

OK, thanks. Better go change the date on my DS...

Since in RSE Zigzagoon and Linoone did not have the ability Gluttony when Zigzagoon is Palparked over and then evolves can the nature change?

if a female pokemon carries the egg move, will it still be passed on?

Yes. Not limited to Zigzagoon/Linoone and occurs some of the time. Seems to happen to Pokemon of one ability in GBA titles that gained a second in DS games. My GBA Ursaring Guts became a Quick Feet in DS... Wish my Scizor from XD Scyther got Technician...

No. Egg Moves are transferred by the male only.

so even tho the egg move was breeded onto the female of the species it cant pass on the already known move?

WTF?

I have had egg moves pass down through the Female but I was using a ditto which is always the mother

so there is a loop hole, fontastic, now i dont hv to waste my friends hard work due to faulty BS programmin on nintendos part.

No, it can't.

The female/mother determines the species.
The father passes down any egg moves.
If both parents know a move that the offspring can/will learn when leveling up, then the hatched Pokémon will know that move.

The only exception is Ditto, obviously. Male + Ditto = egg moves and the male's species. Female + Ditto = no extra moves and the female's species. Genderless Pokémon cannot have any egg moves because they're genderless.

not entirely true, cuz i remember an instance where i got an egg move with a ditto and a female aswell :D
awesome, soon all my typhlosions will have extrasensory :D

It actually is entirely true. It's literally impossible for a female to pass on egg moves, so you must be mistaken.

im not, plus you now have 2eye witness accounts
you cant say 2people are mistaken, its rude.

Rude or not, I am. Every possible information source stating that it's impossible > 2 people saying it is.

If you actually gave a list of the father's moves, the mother's moves and the offspring's moves and then had definite proof of those accounts as well as proof that what the offspring learned was in fact strictly an egg move and not anything else, then maybe I'll change my mind. Until then, you are both mistaken.
