Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

Well, if you're willing to spend 500 Pokédollars a day, there's a guy in the Pastoria Marsh that will give you a random shard every day. That's about it, though.

Find Staryu, and use Thief on them, lol.

OHKOs them if you're good enough, as Dark is super-effective.
So, if you remember not to equip an item, and to keep removing them once collected, you can very efficiently gain Star Pieces (for shards or money), and also train a pokemon!

I'm not getting something..... Why did they put the Azure flute into these games if they didn't even have an event to get it? Because it seems the only American event for Arceus was that TRU one that was already lvl 100.....

Plusle has a 10% chance to be seen on the 2nd day & Minun has a 5% chance to be seen on the 1st day in the trophy garden

ive got a fainted pikachu with static in my first slot, how much does the % increase?

Either they plan on releasing it at some point, or they just plain old scrapped the idea and never removed the Azure Flute from the game(s).

Bulbapedia says it's a 50% increase, but I'm not sure if that's multiplicative or not. My money's on yes, so it'll probably be 15% for Plusle and ~7.5% for Minun. If not, then it's 60% and 55% respectively.

Err, another website says it's 150%, not 50%, which makes sense, which means that it would be 25% and 12.5%.

ev question?

power items give plus +4 so i battle psyduck its +5 but if i have pokerus is it +10 or +6? & if i battle golduck it's doubled evs right?

PokeRus doubles EVs after an item bonus. Psyduck would end up as +10, Golduck would be +12.

Uhhh....no. I'm sure, if you battle something that has +3 EV give, using Power Item + Pokerus, you get 10 EVs. I thought it was 12, but it didn't work when doing complex EVs like 176 / 252 / 80 spreads, etc. but working it out with 10 works.

So, here's an example:

My pokemon: Dragonite @ Power Bracer | Pokerus Infected

Enemy: Luxray | 3 Atk EVs

Calculation:

3 Atk EVs
Pokerus= x2 = 6 Atk EVs
Power Bracer= +4 = 10 Atk EVs

Like I said, PokeRus doubles EV gain *after* you get the benefit from the item. On the Bulbapedia item sheet:
These item's effects are doubled by the effects of Pokérus. For example, if a Chikorita with Pokérus that holds a Power Lens defeats a Haunter, that Chikorita would gain 12 EV points in Special Attack.
Haunter (x) gives 2 Sp. Atk points, so:
(x + 4) * 2 = y
(2 + 4) * 2 = y
(6) * 2 = 12 EVs

If it was the other way around:
(2x) + 4 = y
(2(2)) + 4 = y
(4) + 4 = 8 EVs

Ok....care to simplify?

Coz for some reason it didn't work for me trying to get 12 EVs in Attack by holding Power Bracer, having Pokerus, and defeating a Luxray.

Your calculations look really complex....

How do you know it didn't work for you? The only way to check the EVs are to use AR or PokeSAV, without one the only way to keep track of what you gain is to mark it down as you faint Pokémon.

somone should make an EV calculator :P

it would help alot

but i fainted literally 30 Roselia, to level up my Venomoth (Orion) twice and EV his special attack ^_^ i only used a power bracer, i didnt infect him with Pokerus lol

If you use vitamins, it won't take as long to max a stat. You'd only have to kill 25 Roselia (then 1 without the Bracer) instead of 42.

Pokemon troubles on PBR?!?!?!

ok when i try to use my pass it says a pokemon isnt allowed in and yet i used all of the pokemon on my team last night... and its happening with all or most of my pokemon... so whats going on with it? and sorry if this doesnt belong here i didnt see any other place to put it
