Rain Dance... (just some doubts)

Sandstorm is handy for TSS teams, although it's just easier to lead with Tyranitar for Sand Stream.

1.5 x 1.5 = 2.25, BTW, so enyce was right Demonta

Clarify please:

I was always under the impression that it worked differently.For example -
hydropump = base power 120
in the rain increases it by 50% so that would make it 180
and in addition to rain, STAB increases the base power of 120 by 50%..
So that would mean a base power of 240.

not a base damage of 270.

I really don't know.I have been out of NB for awhile now.So...

Demonta just went into more detail.

It's not an increase of 50%, it's more a multiple of 1.5, so yes it does work out as 1.5 x 1.5 for Rain Dance + STAB, and Hydro Pump is 270 damage (greater than an unstabbed Explosion), Surf is 213.75, Water Pulse is 135, and Waterfall is 180 damage with the rain.
