as for yours, its too one sided. and the blue isnt complimenting the maroon.
I suggest that you use a different profile style that involves unique primary content and secondary content and major block headers and minor block headers. the whole all 1 colour thing is really unattractive imo. maybe you can start with using several different shades of red.
 
Interesting animated background. The colors look decent too, though I personally would have gone with grayish blues, but that's just me. 9/10
 
Too simple IMO.

I don't really like the fact that the background and the content areas are black.

Ok mix though.
