5th Gen Re-creating Old Pokemon?

not at all, theres many different bat species& they look absolutely completely different

caterpillars all look similar,so wouldnt that make all 1st bug types clones after gen2? :P

Monmen = Cloned Hoppip
Dangoro = it's a rock so it's a clone?

Well they are doing these on purpose they said they wanted to create pokemon similar to those of the past but different at the same time :)

I always thought they should've done that.
In Johto, Hoenn or Sinnoh.. but they didn't

For Tauros and Miltank to be able to mate in Day-care and then make babies of either species.
But that sadly never happened.. :(


Maybe they finally thought about it this time around.

i dont agree with that at all, most of these (especially the beginners) are worlds apart :/
i do agree with the hoppip,tauros, pachirisu,&lucario ones though :)

But still, it's ripping off older Pokemon, they could at LEAST make them look more original and not as direct clones that everyone can tell.....

I updated it with Chiramii....

They aren't really that close nor that far, they are more like Countries apart :P
 
I read a comment on a Youtube video of the Megaman 10 Endless mode, which contains stage layoust similar to that of previous Megaman games as a homage to them, and the comment was that homage can easily turn into unoriginality, this is what Game Freak is clearly doing with Generation 5, trying to create homages to older pokemon, yet failing miserably and making them look almost EXACTLY like the older Pokemon, such as Emonga being based off of Pachirisu, and Yoteri being based off of Growlithe, you can TELL that they have copied off of them.....

Agreed. Design-wise, most of those...aren't that much alike. Although they may serve the same roles (like Koromori taking Zubat's place, or Mamepato taking Pidgey's).

yoteri & growlithe are merely coloured the same, but their chosen dog species are completely different, just cuz 2pokemon have same colours doesnt mean their the same, thats like saying oh gyrados & milotic are the same cuz gyrados's belly it the same as milotics entire body :/

Though I heard that Yoteri evolves into a type of legendary Dog like Growlithe did ( a legendary dog as in a dog in myths in real life not the Legendary dog trio :P )

Whilst I didn't believe it to begin with, I am happy with this all new Pokemon idea they are trying, I personally hope for something close to Lapras and Heracross, they are both great Pokemon that I always love having on my team and I hope to see recreations of them in Black & White.

Well the description of it sounds like a dog I read about in a legend but yeah it's an over grown Shih Tzu :)
Lol let's not get into that debate here but yeah I agree with you though Suicune does look a bit like a cat...
 
i guess im ok with them recreating pokemon. i guess this gens pokemon will just be all parallels.
