Issue: read PMs showing up as unread and get notifications every time I visit

I am having problems with my Private Messaging. I keep getting the same notification pop up that I have an unread PM every time I visit PokéCommunity Forums even though it is the same message! and it doesn't matter how many times I read it, it STILL says 1 unread Private Message! clicking the home page or browsing the forums DOES NOT fix the problem!

Did you actually check to make sure you don't have an unread PM? If you have a few, you could have missed it.

I do recall a thread here awhile back about ghost notifications not going away, I'll see if I can find it.

Clearing your cache should fix it.

If it says that you have 1 Unread Private Message then somewhere amongst your Inbox will be a PM that you haven't read yet, have you fully checked through them all?

YES I DID!!!! I DON'T HAVE THAT MANY MESSAGES!!!! and the pop up box keeps coming up for the SAME MESSAGE!!!!!!!! JUST WENT THROUGH IT AGAIN!!!!!! NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try PMing yourself and then deleting the PM.
At least doing something like that seems to work with visitor messages...

Stop yelling and cut down on the exclamation marks. Being rude isn't gonna help you. The servers are acting out right now which is why it took a while (if 7 minutes are even 'a while') to reply.

Clearing your cache should work. If you don't know how, tell me what browser you have so I can guide you through it.

As Clay pointed out, you should probably take a chill pill at this point. Getting worked up about this isn't gonna help you in the slightest, so do yourself a favor and calm down.

Now, you have a few more possible options. As Clay suggested, try deleting your PMs. However, before doing that, you should probably select all your PMs and mark them as read.

Also, try going through your entire inbox to make sure you have no unread PMs. Sometimes a new PM notification can trigger a dormant one if the server is lagging.

If none of these work, I'm afraid it could be a registry error due to the server lag. Although I can't really see how clearing your cache wouldn't solve that because registry errors are client side.

Also, try using another browser and see if the problem persists. A screenshot would be helpful as well.
