Once again, a disturbance swept through the Pokemon Center.

This time it was a female Trainer, likely diagnosed with ADHD and fueled by caffeine, coffee, sugar, or anything that would cause impulsiveness and jitteriness. Brayden hated these sorts of people. To top it off, her manner of speech was irritating. That voice just couldn't get any more obnoxious, could it? He thought to himself.

Brayden ignored her, focusing on the task at hand. K.R. and Chris were chatting, and he was busy comforting Angel, who was still as pale as a sheet of paper. He gently put his arm around her, whispering to her once more.

"No problem. I'm here if you need anything."

Neil had remembered to accessorize as he wandered the streets of Sunnyshore, and drew from his backpack, which was now casually slung over his shoulder, a cleanly white cap and silver sunglasses. It was in this manner that he entered the crowded Pokemon Center. At a quick glance he noticed first the mutliple old men in robes, and then trainers scattered in clusters around the hopsital-like room, some sitting alone. Looking back at the one of the robed men, who was eying his Pokeballs, Neil knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened.

The man asked whether he was one of the trainers chosen to save the world. He honestly wasn't entirely sure of the answer, and in his hesistance thought further about the man's-all of the robed men's- intentions. Could they be so easily trusted? What was that in his eyes?

"Yessir." Going with his gut instinct, Neil decided they really couldn't be against his cause if they were dressed so obnoxiously and still weren't stopped by any of the other trainers. Also, he recognized the twinkle in the man's eye- it was hope, however dim it appeared.

Upon answering, the man's rough hands began feeling Neil's palm though he had no permission to do so. But the teenager ignored the blatant rudeness, deeming that this was an important action. After a few moments, the man retracted his hand.

"He is also one."

...

One what? Also? Had they not been satisfied with his confirmation of being one of the chosen trainers? Was everyone else in the room in his Puma sneakers, commonly known as shoes?

"What's going on here?" Neil questioned the sages with an even mix of hostility and confusion. When he recieved no response, the boy turned his gaze to the other trainers. Dub Tee Eff.

Suddenly, there was an explosion.

"What's going on?" I questioned as the door was blowen open by a Gengar.

"Stay sharp you two," I told Kirlia and Combusken.

A bunch of men in black and grey hooded cloats stormed the Pokemon Centre. I knew it was the Team Curse the Sinnoh region was known for.

"Combusken use Fire Spin and Kirlia use Confuson," I commanded to my two Pokemon.

My two Pokemon went on the attack. All the men who entered the Pokemon Centre had the Gengar family. That consisted of Gastly, Haunter and Gengar.

Kirlia started controling a near by Haunter while Combusken fired a spiral of inferno at a Gengar. Both attacks struck there targets. Kirlia threw the Haunter against the wall while the Gengar flew into a glass table.

"Shadow Punch Gengar!" the Gengars Trainer called.

The Gengar got to its feet quickly and came at Kirlia with a punch made of darkness. The attack hit him, which was to powerful for him to handle, so he was unable to battle any longer.

"Come back Kirlia," I said as I called Kirlia back to his Pokeball

"It's you and me Combusken," I told my remaining Pokemon.

Combusken nodded and we both turned back to the Gengar.

I don't think we can do this alone, I thought as I stared at my remaining problem.

"I need some help over here!" I called to the trainers in the centre.

Brayden nodded, shoving himself in front of Angel. This little Pokemon Center stay wouldn't be very peaceful, it seemed. Several men, garbed in black and grey, stormed inside, calling out a Haunter and a Gengar. In an instant, he was prepared for the onslaught, Poke Ball at the ready.

"Staryu, go!"

A flash of white light followed, and Staryu burst out, its tan body poised for battle. It gave a small click as a sign of approval, awaiting its Trainer's command.

Brayden signaled for Angel to stand by him. "It looks like we're facing Ghost-types... Can you use NightStar? She'll have an advantage"

He then turned back to Staryu.

"Use Camouflage to blend in. Then ambush them with Water Gun", he whispered.

Staryu gave a small shake in response, then disappeared completely, at least to the naked eye.

"Now, go for that Haunter first. Wait for my signal."

The Star Shape Pokemon slithered quietly along the floor, its color matching the hospital tile. It approached the still-stunned Haunter stopping a few feet away from it. The garbed men were still oblivious as to where it had gone.

Brayden then raised his voice. "Now! Water Gun, full power!"

Staryu reappeared, firing a powerful jet of water from its center, adding a little spin to increase the pressure. With any luck, Haunter would be struck again, since Brayden likely exploited a blind spot from Camouflage.

Angel straightened as soon she heard an explosion. She saw a boy and his Combuskin battling a bunch of Gengar. She heard him ask for help. She smiled. This was something she wasn't nervous about. Battling. "Hold on!", She called. "Seviper, NightStar, let's show them what some Kanto pokemon can do!!", she called, smoothly pulling out Seviper's pokeball and releasing the Snake pokemon. "Seviiipperr!!", Her Seviper called. "Breeoonn!!", called NightStar. They were battle ready. She ran to the boy. "NightStar use Dark Pulse and Seviper, use Wring Out!!", she ordered, her voice calm.

Brayden was immediately taken by Angel's confidence. No doubt, she was an effective battler. He then brandished a second Poke Ball, while waiting for Staryu's attack to connect.

"Cubone, go!"

The skull-wearing lizard Pokemon stumbled out of its Poke Ball, its eyes shining with contentment. Although Ground-types would be ineffective here due to the Levitate ability, Brayden had another plan in mind.

"Cubone, use Ancientpower on Gengar!"

"Cuuu!" With a large grunt, Cubone drew up several large rocks from the ground, and flung them towards Gengar, who was seemingly unprepared for the assault.

Angel watched in awe as she saw Brayden's Cubone preform a picture perfect Ancient Power. She ducked as one of the men tried to grab her. She whirled around with the speed of a ninjask and preformed a perfect human version of Hi Jump Kick, something she had learned from watching another trainer's Medicham before she went on her journey. She was a skilled battler and a skilled fighter, training at the Dojo with her brother and his friends every other day. The man went down and she landed behind him. She looked at Brayden with a 'Haven't you seen a girl defend herself before' look. She then turned and looked at NightStar. "Good job, NightStar, keep it up! You too Seviper!", she called in encouragement.

Brayden spun around as he himself was being harassed. Angel was a lovely fighter, to say the least. He promptly punched his assaulter in the face, blacking his left eye and causing him to shriek in agony.

Brayden then turned to his Pokemon, who were still attacking.

When the explosion took place, Dahlia stumbled for a bit. "What in the holy hell..." she asked before she was asked to help. She already saw a boy around his age and a girl fighting the enemy already, which by the way was a bunch of Gengars and their trainers. So Dahlia shrugged. "Lets go help them out, Trapinch!" she declared as Octogon nodded as it hopped off Dahlias shoulder. Dahlia took out another pokeball. "You help too, Smooches the Togetic!" she said as she threw her pokeball in the air.

"Tooogetic!" Smooches cried as it stood along side her Trapinch. The other battlers were already fighting off the Gengar, however, the Gengar were pretty strong. That's when Dahlia had an idea. "Togetic, use Follow me!" "Tiiiic!" it cried as it obeyed. Togetic waggled is fingers around simultaneously. "Follow me makes it so that enemy pokemon have to attack my Togetic!" Dahlia explained. "I hope that's a good enough defense..."

"We can't kold them, we've got to get out of here," I said to the trainers around the centre.

As Combusken kept up his attack, I called him back to his Pokeball and made a run for the door. Thd oor was blocked, so I jumped out the window. I smashed through the glass and hit the ground hard. I quickly got up and made a run for it. We ran threw the city before stopping at the entrance to a route.

I called out both of my Pokemon, Combusken seemed fired up, while Kirlia was tired and fell to the ground apon being called out.

"I hope the others made it out okay?" I said to my two Pokemon.

"F-fall back?!" Dahlia yelled towards Kyle's decision. "BUT WAIT! WATCH THIS! ITS MY SUPER-SECRET AWESOME KILLER MOVE!" she turned to Togetic. "Togetic! Lets switch to Metronome!" "Tiiiic!" it said as it began wafting its fingers. "Toge...Toge...Toge...Toge...TOGE!" Togetic's metronome was complete. "AND NOW! Togetic! Dish out the super secret awesome killer move!" Dahlia ordered. "Toge....TIC!" Togetic stood still for a moment as Dahlia and Octogon looked on. Then...Togetic started to jump and down in the air. But that was it. Dahlia and Octogon were speechless. The super secret awesome killer move...was Splash.

"Okay...!" Dahlia said in response to Splash. "Lets get the heck out of here! No hard feelings, right Gengar gang?...heh...heh...SMOOCHES, RETURN NOW!" Dahlia returned Togetic to its pokeball and Octogon hoped back to Dahlia's shoulder. She backed away a bit, just in case the others needed help, then doubled back.

Angel called her pokemon back and made her way to Brayden. "Come on! We have to go now!", she said. She pulled on his arm, desperate to get them both out. A few moments later Angel felt a horrible pain in her side. She looked down and saw the glow of a well aimed Shadow Claw. She went as white as a froslass. She shuddered, but still stood. Everything was getting fuzzy. "Brayden", she said, her voice showing her fear. She took a step and went down, hard. She was near her backpack and she got it on somehow. She tried getting up, but it was no use. Everything was fuzzy, nothing was substantial.

Brayden decided to follow the boy's notion and escape through the window. Before he did so, however, he plucked the two Poke Balls from his belt, holding them up.

"Cubone, Staryu, return!"

Before one of the garbed men could pursue him, Brayden made a beeline for the broken window and jumped out of it, thankfully not cutting himself on the sharp glass fragments still affixed to the pane. The drop was not far, but he landed hard.

After recovering from the short drop, he waited for Angel, a slight feeling of worry forming within his mind. He was also concerned for the others (except the ditzy girl, whose Togetic used a pretty embarassing attack considering the severity of the situation).

The boy who broke the window in the first place seemed stunned, but he promptly ran away from the scene. A wise decision on his part.

Brayden was compelled to do the same, but he didn't want to leave Angel behind. Sighing deeply, he concealed himself behind a nearby dumpster, the stench rather putrid, but at least it was an effective hiding place for the time being.

Angel couldn't find Brayden. "BRAYDEN!!", she yelled, the sound echoing. Angel pulled out NightStar's pokeball and released him. "Find Brayden, NightStar, and fast", she said. Tears were running down her face, though she never made a sound. Her vision was blurry now. She was now terrified. She would have prefered the toga man to this. The Shadow Claw wound was hurting terribly. *Please Brayden hurry*, she thought.

K.R. was bewildered at the explosion which cut short his chat with Chris. It looks like the action was beginning already. A bunch of weirdos wearing black and gray burst through the doors using Gastlys, Haunters and Gengars.

"We can't hold them, we've got to get out of here!" yeleld one of the trainers who had a Kirlia and Combusken

K.R. Smirked and puled out his two pokeballs. It looks like Eevee was getting the battle he wanted.

"Shuppet, Eevee let's rock!" exclaimed K.R. as he tossed two pokeballs in the air.

"Shup!!" said Shuppet as the shiny sparkles glistened on it's body as it normally does for shiny pokemon

"Qui." said Eevee

"Okay since they are ghost pokemon, Shuppet, you have the advantage, Eevee, make sure you have Shuppet's back. Now let's clear a path!"

"Haunter, use Sucker Punch!" yelled one of the strange men

Haunter's body glowed a purple light as it sped towards Shuppet.

"Eevee use Detect!" yelled K.R.

Eevee's eyes glowed a neon blue as Haunter was stopped by the barrier formed by Eevee.

"Now Shuppet, here's your chance, use Shadow Sneak!"

"SHUUUUUPPPEEEETTTTT!!!" it yelled as its shadow extended and hit Haunter directly as it flew back.

"Nice one guys." complemented K.R.

"We have a tough guy here. We got a teat for you tough guy!" yelled the strange men as they tossed five pokeballs in the air. Just then, five Gengars came out and surrounded K.R. and his pokemon. K.R. knew that they couldn't hold them off for too log, so they had to bail. K.R. had to think of something fast or they would be goners. He saw the Gengar lifting up their hnds as they were about to launch a devastating attack. He remembered how the trainer from earlier had ran and jumped out of a window. Which of course was a good thing, considering that they were on the first floor. Just then, K.R. knew what to do.

"Gengars, use Shadow Ball now!" yelled one of the weirdos

The Gengars formed the shadow balls and hurled them at K.R. and his pokemon.

"Eevee, use Detect!" yelled K.R.

Eevee's eyes glowed a neon blue as the shadow balls bounced and dissipated, which shocked the Gengars. K.R. and his pokemon took this as a chance to escape. K.R. rolled on the floor and got up when he was in open space. He and his pokemon were running (Shuppet was flying of course, since he levitates)

He then came across the window the trainer from earlier had leaped out of and K.R. followed suit and jumped out of the broken window. Eevee easily hopped out and into K.R.'s hands. Shuppet however, phased through the wall.

"Alright guys, let's get out of here, Shuppet return!" Shuppet went back into his pokeball and Eevee jumped on top of K.R.'s spiky blue and black hair. Normally, K.R. would have objected and called Eevee back into his pokeball, but he was a little more worried about safety at the moment.

"Sinnoh is a dangerous place....it's better than I expected." said K.R. with a smirk on his face

Soon enough, he came across a nearby route outside of the city. There, he saw the trainer from earlier and he had his pokemon standing with him.

"Thanks for breaking that window, that gave us an easy getaway." said K.R.

"Qui." said Eevee in agreement

The first thought that passed through Neil's mind was HOLY CRAP.

The second, though, was that this was a test by the robed dudes who had mintues ago deemed him "one". So instinctively he snatched Finn's Pokeball from his belt, felt the ball physically enlarge in his palm and released his Manectric into the room.

Now, deriving from Hoenn, the typing of these Pokemon, which all appeared part of the same evolution chain, was unknown to Neil, though he could guess they were at least part Ghost. So that eliminated Quick Attack from the roster, and Discharge, which had not one target but hit everyone in the vicinity.

"Quick Finn, Ice Fang one of them!" A floating mass of gas with eyes lay right in his line of sight so the Pokemon charged, his teeth glittering with ice. But this movement didn't go unnoticed and the gas Pokemon's trainer ordered a Shadow Punch. As Finn was sprinting (quite quickly if I may add), two fists seemingly composed of shadows flew out of the enemy.

"Dodge 'em Finn!" The electric dog agilely lept to the side of the punch, but the fists swerved back around and hit him from behind. Apparently that move doesn't miss. But Finn didn't appear badly injured and hopped right up again. He was within feet of the Ghost type. "Ice Fang again bud!" And this time his icy jaws clamped onto the enemy, even though his body appeared gaseous.

"We can't hold them, we've got to get out of here!" Neil mentally took a step back; there was too many of them. A reckless notion bubbled at the back of his head. Maybe he should make use of Discharge's broad range, but he might hit someone else's Pokemon, or someone else.

As Finn was transmitted back to his Pokeball, multiple Shadow Balls exploded where he bad standing seconds earlier.

"So probably not a test then," he briefly thought to himself before retreating. A girl with a Trapinch on her shoulder was fleeing as well, so he followed her, unable to think of where else to go.

Suddenly, a explosion came from the door.

Several black and grey clothed people spewed in.

A man sent out his Haunter.

Time for some battle! Chris as due his Personality is compelled to battle.

"Vaporeon, Buizel let's wash them away!" Chris pulled out his pokéballs,

He threw them and they bursted out from their Pokéballs.

"Vaporeon go in for a bite!" Chris noded at Vaporeon, grinning as he commanded battle, then Vaporeon ran in for a Bite.

"Buizel use surf!" Chris commanded "Buz?" the Buizel questioned his trainer due to infact not being much water near.

"Go on!" Chris pointed to the docks. Buizel ran to the Ocean

"Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...." Buizel roared "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel!!!!!!!!!!!"

Water waved in and the door being open, it hit directly on the Haunter and then the water eevee bit it's opponent.

Haunter fell down with only on the last limbs "Ghost, use Mean look!" shouted the man,

the Haunter's eyes lit purply and suddenly the surroundings turned into a purple mystical tunnel

The man commanded again "Evolve now!" Haunter started to evolve into Gengar

Chris was stunned "How did you do that?!"

The man laughed maniactly "I stopped him evolving and then he could evolve at will, any way enjoy your fight!" He threw out five more Pokéballs all Gengars

Chris was in trouble. He only had 2 pokémon and there was 6 Gengars and he could not excape,

Chris hesitated, he tried to find the one using mean look, "Buizel use Tackle, Vaporeon use bite on that one with mean look!"

Buizel was running as well as Vaporeon,

The man laughed evily "Team use Shadow ball!" The Gengars eyes lit up,

They fired...

The Shadow Balls was spinning at them

"HELP!" Chris screamed...

Angel saw the open window and, calling her pokemon back, jumped out the window. She had mis-judged the distance, and now had glass in her side and her leg, along with a ton of nasty cuts from said glass. She landed on her back, hard, driving the air out of her lungs. She gasped for air for a few moments. When she finally could breath again, she smelled a dumpster. Angel almost gagged at the smell, used to fresh scents of the forest where she grew up and calls home. She looked around, sensing Brayden somewhere close. She didn't know exactly where, just that he was close. "Brayden? You around here somewhere?", she called, worry evident in her tone.

Since Aquataris can't post at the moment, I'm doing this on his behalf:
