4th Gen Reccomended Team Combinations

Hey guys its been a while since ive been on these forums, i just got the rom file for pokemon platinum. i chose a chinchar as my starter and ive caught a few types of pokemon.

Currently i have

Monferno lvl 22
Psyduck lvl 20
Geodude lvl 20
Budew lvl20

I just learned that bud dew only evolves based on happynes and forggot that geodude can only reach final form through evolving which means i would have to dual rom and trade him back and forth.

i have always loved dragon type and psycic type so im asking for some pointers can anyone give me a heads up of how long in to the game untill i cam get a dratini

and also i was wondering what good combinations for a solid team you guys would reccomend. feel free to pm me or just reply here.

For Dratini, a long way through. By fishing in one of the cavern's in upper Mt. Coronet. If I remember correctly, that's after the seventh gym, but before the eighth.

Edit: Nevermind, I just remembered, you need the Super Rod. Which is obtained even further through the game, after the Elite Four.

Try for a Gastly will help in long term against mainly physical gyms like maylene

according to one of the guides im reading the choice of pokemon prety much sucks at the spot im at.... :/ one of the few things i didnt like about the game, every game always seems to have the same old pokemon till about badge 5 or 6

Yeah, but once you get strength, go in the hidden entrance to the wayward cave and get a Gible.they're Ground-Dragon types that evolve twice into Garchomp, which is so good it's classed as Uber.

And once you've done all the plot stuff, but before Gym No.8, you can catch Uxie,Azelf and Mesprit, all of which are Psychic types

Again, in-game teams do not matter. Simply pick your six favourites and use them, then level them up sufficiently. All there is to it for the in-game portion of the game.
