Recycling Old Legendaries

    There are plenty of legendary Pokemon out there for us, many of which haven't been made mascot of any games before, nor have the taken part in their stories. Rather than GameFreak and Nintendo putting-together new legendaries each and every generation for plot and whatnot, do we believe it would be better if they went ahead to utilize older ones--those that have never been used for storyline purposes? If we do want them to go towards this route, what are some positives we are expecting to see from it?

    I think it's a good idea. There are so many legendary Pokes that haven't yet played a part in any in-game story at all, such as the legendary birds, the Regi trio, and the Swords of Justice. Perhaps they could make games that flesh out the backstory behind them all? I'd still like to see more legendaries, but it'd also be nice to have some of the existing ones get some more attention as well.

    I don't think the box legendaries should be recycled, but I say yes to the others. Take Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres for example, they might have appeared in several games since their debut in Gen I (RBY, Platinum, HGSS, XY), but they've never been part of any story. Instead they just wait on their mountain or whatever location they're present to be caught or fly around waiting without any goal until caught. Such a shame.
    As for the box legends, they already had their game to shine in and the myths often involve the region itself too, so it's a bit out of place to put them in another region as well. (Yet Game Freak didn't seem to care about that when they made Hoenn's weather trio available in HGSS too.)

    Generation VI has sort of started to do this, and I like that method. Not COMPLETELY getting rid of new legendaries, but instead only introducing a small handful of new ones then bringing back old ones as relevant again. If we ever got an entire generation without a single new legendary I think I'd borderline be offended.

    As for me, I believe such a thing would bring us more good than bad. For one, this'd help reduce the amount of legendaries introduced throughout generations, which is something many of us had complained about in the past. Two, it'd lend a hand on bringing relativity into older legendary Pokémon. Those that are new to this franchise and don't know much about them, this will guide these people into changing that, and get them to become more familiar.

    I agree, there have been way too many new legendaries introduced in the more recent gens, which somewhat takes away from the uniqueness of the legendary status :( Gen 6 didn't go too legend crazy, so it seems they're trying to get away from that, but it'd also be nice to see them bring some of the older ones back and make them have a role in the story too.

    Even though I think the 2 Legendaries of the new Gen should be kept, I think it's good to give some spotlight and a brand-new story (if possible) to the previously known Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. It sure will make them feel fresh, just like how several spin-offs like PMD have different story if that involves Legendaries and Mythical Pokémon.

    I think Jirachi should star in a game. It's a pretty forgotten legendary, so it would be great to see it get more of a spotlight. Zygarde also should, but I have no doubt that it'll happen soon enough.

    Ironically Jirachi isn't a forgotten legendary in Japan, where Pokémon first originated. That is because Tanabata is celebrated annually in Japan and Jirachi as it is the Wish Pokémon. {XD}

    On to the main topic, If a Kanto reboot (not remake) were to be made some time in the future. The Wing Mirages should receive a bigger role, at least as important as Dialga and Palkia in DP, instead of roosting in a location waiting for the players to look for them.
