There's something that sort of bugs me about RBY, that being how you get Evee. You walk up to the top of the celadon mansion where the guy who knows everything lives and you find it on the table and just take it, wtf? Seriously the guy doesn't give it to you or say "oh yeah there's an Evee on the table over there you can have it" red just takes it without permission the little thief! He obviously didn't read the sign in viridian forest that says "catching other trainers pokemon is stealing". Am I the only person who ever wondered what's up with that?

You know, I've never noticed that before.

Maybe since the people of Gamefreak work in the building, they just let any trainer take the eevee to help them on their pokedex quest.

I do recall Bill saying he wanted to research the effects on eevee ... or he lets you take it for saving him. To be honest I don't know if its from the remakes though. xD

Oh really ? I always thought that he somehow sees you when you take it...

That could be possible but why would it be in the Celadon Mansion if he's the one who lets u take it?

All player characters in every RPG ever are thieves on a grand scale. It's just a trope of the genre but it indeed ought to be presented better if the characters are supposed to be good.

I think it is simply because the guy in that room is "above" the game, in a way. He speaks about the game and the gameboy, doesn't he? And if I recall (which I probably don't) he wants you to fill up your pokédex. Of course you can take that Eevee. That room is "outside" of the game and thus, the Eevee belongs to no one, since it probably doesn't belong to the above/outsidethegame guy.

    /theory :3

Dude. I just want the Eevee. One of my favorites. I don't care if it's stealing, GIMME DA EEVEE!!!

    :D

That's just my take on it, though.

    Hahaha, I really don't know.

I don't see the point for putting so much thought into it, its just a game. The makers obviously want you to take it since they don't stop you from it. Plus your the one whos deciding to steal, not Red. :O

Oh what? I got things mixed up.... Erm lets say he stayed there for a while... [/liestomakemystorybelievable]

I noticed that. Then I thought... wait.... who cares? I felt like Team Rocket a little there. It was awesome. *evil laugh*
