I'm working on a mobile game (unrelated to Pokemon), but it's filled with plenty of references. I was wondering if it's legal to have Pokemon references like the main character sayings things like "Gotta catch 'em all" or some Pokemon name or something. Keep in mind, he'll be SAYING these - there won't be any text of it. So maybe it's different?

Techincally "Gotta catch 'em all" is the official Pokemon slogan, but you really won't have to worry.

Nintendo won't care about small things like that, especially since your game isn't related to Pokemon. The short answer is you'll be fine :)

Tentatively you should be fine. If there's any serious ambiguity, I'd suggest you seek actual legal advice before trying to sell your game.
