HeartGold hack: Refined Gold Overhaul [COMPLETE]

Man this looks amazing, I'm new to 3ds homebrewing and have encountered problems playing HG hacks on there. I am using patching the game onto a clean .nds rom but it then freezes after about 15 minutes when entering a battle. I read this is due to the Anti-Piracy stuff but even when I add the AP patch through DS Scene and then applying the hack patch and it still freezes. I really want to play this on the 3ds does anyone have any idea how to make it work. I did have Sun in the card slot so not sure if that causes issues too. EDIT taking game cart out did nothing

Just wondered something small I can't really figure out from the changelogs, and it's really small (sorry). With the changed stone evolution moves, does this wipe away the traditional ones? Specifically, with Togekiss's evolution, do the changes take away Air Slash and Aura Sphere as heart scale re-learns?

All changes are additions except where explicitly said otherwise

Do you have a list of which town's move tutors teach what - it's a little hard to keep track of and I can't see it in the documentation. Thanks!

Basically the Bulbapedia documentation covers it. The HGSS and Platinum tutor sets are the same with the HG tutors adding some more moves to each one - the tutor listings are essentially in order of the Platinum tutors (R212, Snowpoint, Survival Area being Ecruteak, Lake of Rage, Saffron).
I can take a look at the documentation later today to make it clearer on the actual docs if that's necessary.

Where is the TM vendor postgame? And is it post e4 rematch, or just post original e4. Have looked a bit, and cant seem to find it, but haven't rematched yet.

Thanks! It's just a little bit unclear just because the Bulbapedia list has it all in one big list, rather than separated into the different guys. Obviously this isn't a problem for the vanilla game because they're all in the same room, but for your hack they're separated in different towns, so it's hard to know which tutors are in which towns.

Rather than getting you to do a whole separated table, would you be able to say which guy is in which town (i.e. Top left guy is in __, Top right is __ etc).

Appreciate it! And appreciate the romhack, it's my default way to play Johto from now on!
I'm glad you're enjoying it haha!

Look at the Platinum tables for reference, as the tables are the same in HG just with extra moves added to them. The list is essentially R212, Snowpoint, Survival Area being Ecruteak, Lake of Rage, Saffron respectively.

Little side thing - if anyone has a *DS, DS Lite, or DSi* with an *R4 card* or other means of playing a romhack on real hardware who wants to help me test a little research project shoot me a DM! We're testing whether [obscure Gamefreak optimization] actually does anything or if it's just cleaner. All I would need you to do is run a mod on real hardware and compare the time it takes for an encounter to load between it and vanilla. (Testing on a 3DS wouldn't not be handy to have more data on but the research is specifically on whether it runs fine on the older DS family of systems)
(This is not an RGO related mod, it's to test something I am considering implementing that a friend made)

Do you think we can download older versions? Trying to play on Twilight but im late by 1 version, the latest nds-bootstrap version supports only 4.1.1, not 4.1.2

I'm at Blaine's gym and the game crashes when Teacher Julie sends out Castform... (the crash happens just before it would transform, and the music stays on a sustained note. I'm on 4.1.2 on R4 - the crash doesn't happen on MelonDS as far as I can tell... Thankfully the gym is nonlinear so I can just fight the other trainers but still)

Yeah, this sounds like real hardware compat related stuff. Not sure if mons crashing the game as they transform mid-battle is AP related or just a random glitch. I've looked into it and the best solution I have for you is to go the other way. I have discussed a possible solution with a friend that should mitigate this in a future update but they have other priorities for the time being, so it won't be addressed for the foreseeable future.

usually (as far as I can tell at least) the ap-related crashes will freeze the game but the music keeps playing as normal

Where is the shiny stone located? I know the changelog says post Radio Tower but where specifically is it?
Literally just read the next section
I did just notice an unrelated error in the same subsection (I forgot Zoom Lens and didn't list the right location for Magmarizer etc) so I have updated that part of the documentation but also please just read the part where it lists locations dgffghgjhhgf
