[Intro] Reintroduction: a new start!

Hi everyone! I'm returning after at least ten years of inactivity. I'm looking forward to reuniting with old friends and making new ones!

A lot has changed but I've never stopped enjoying Pokémon. I have been replaying my DS and 3DS games in the last few years as well as a second go on Scarlet. I know it had its performance issues, but playing that game live with my two best friends was the Pokémon experience I always dreamed of since playing Silver as a pre-teen! Johto is my home and Chikorita is my fave, but I do also love Unova, especially the Subway Bosses.

I used to host The BBS forums with a friend who I think is no longer active in the fandom. Unfortunately I think my introduction of an IRC channel contributed largely to inactivity on the forums. :') It was a neat little community and I hope to reconnect with some of those people here!

I'm lucky that my now-husband also enjoys the anime and Pokémon Go! We have a 7 month old son with an extremely subtle (and socially normal) Pokémon-related name and we're going to be the coolest millennial parents, obviously. The first toy I bought for him while I was pregnant was a "soda pop" Pichu plush.

I also enjoy creating fanfiction and fanart (or, you know, I did when I had the time) and have a post Pokémon 2000 fic I'd like to revive and finish, after I do the same with my whopping Magic Knight Rayearth one.

Outside of Pokémon I'm a big fan of Zelda, Splatoon, Star Trek, and manga/anime such as the aforementioned MKR, xxxHolic, Spy x Family, and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun.

Finally, I want to confess I got into some unfriendly behaviour here (very unlike me) I guess to impress someone?? when I was around 20, and I'm very grateful Sheep has reset my account at my request so I can have a fresh start. ♥️ I was bullied throughout school and the internet was my safe place so I'm really mad at younger me for making anyone feel unwelcome on the internet. If you need an internet auntie (I'm 36 now) I'm here!

I checked out your thread just from the title (because I'm always interested in who comes back to here) and my reaction on seeing your name!

It has been years! Though you and I probably didn't really interact all those years ago, I knew you through our mutual friend. I think I was even a member of The BBS Forums, but wasn't active because I was busy here. It's so wonderful to see you come back, still enjoying Pokémon after all this time. Congratulations on the family too. And yes, you are the coolest millennial parents for starting your son off on the right path to being a Pokémon fan!

Maybe this time around, we'll have a better chance to get to know one another. (I'm also a fan of the Zelda series.) Great to see you again after all these years, and I'm glad you're doing well!

Welcome back coming from one that is just recently on the forums kick. I might not know exactly what happened in the past other than that it's long pass gone and over, but I do understand and can relate to bits of that myself. Had a former friend whom I broke off with and done some pretty dumb things myself. I'd be more than happy to reminisce what I can via DMs if you're okay with that of course!

It's so cool to hear you and your significant other are raising a kid and getting them interested into the franchise!

Thank you! I have played Legends Arceus one and a half times, and I am jazzed for Legends Z-A! How about yourself? My favourite Zelda games are probably Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (I feel like I'm allowed two because the mood is so different), also thoroughly enjoy BOTW and TOTK but they're kinda in their own separate category in my head? 😆 Do you have a favourite Zelda - or several?

I'm not sure how to feel about Z-A atm, it seems a lot more trainer battle heavy than PLA, and I loved PLA for the exploration and lack of trainer battles personally. I'll have to see when I play it I guess =P

I'm currently playing BotW for the first time and I'm loving it.... though it does feel like an entirely different game, just in a Zelda setting =P
My very first Zelda game was Ocarina of Time on the N64, but although I did like it and played it quite a bit, I was just a wee little lad at the time so I don't remember all too much from it.

My first time actually buying a Zelda game myself (The N64 and it's games were a shared console between me and my older siblings) was on the DS, with Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks. I think in terms of just sheer amount of time put into playing them, a favorite would probably be one of those two. They're the oldest ones I've played that I can actually recall playing =3

BotW is probably going to be up there once I finish it, but I'm exploring very thoroughly and it's become quite the time sink =P
