MAN! THAT WOULD MAKE MY CHRISTMAS! :D

But the amazon pages don't look very promising... It says Gold not Heart Gold and Silver instead of Soul Silver
 
yeah idk about this... i also recal a video on youtube that had a section saying there was a magazine in europe announcing there release date for HG&SS would be december 2010....
 
For an Amazon page it looks incredibly sketchy.
And if it WAS for sure wouldn't there be an announcement somewhere other than just Amazon?
Meh, it doesn't bother me, I'm pre-ordering the Jap SS tomorrow =D
I'm just pointing out, How can we believe this?
 
This is obviously fake. The only people that would believe this are ones that are overly excited for HG/SS. There might be others, like myself, that are overly excited, but know this is fake. Do you know how many months it would take for translation and getting rid of any bugs the Japanese forgot to fix?

But, if this was true, oh, how happy I would be? :D Holy shizz this would make me the happiest kid in the freaking universe!

I completely understand being skeptical. However, I don't think it's right for you to say people who believe this are flat-out wrong when you don't have something that completely proves your claim.

There are a few reasons I'm leaning towards this being true:
First, Amazon's a pretty trustworthy site, and from what I've seen they tend to get their release dates correct.

Second, the English translations have been coming out quicker over the years. All Pokemon games since Emerald have come out in Japan during September. Emerald came out in the US in May, D/P came out in the US in April, and Platinum came out in the US in March. The translations have been becoming easier to do.

Third, HeartGold and SoulSilver have been in development since Diamond and Pearl came out. That would give the people a fair amount of time to translate the games into English by the end of this year, since most of the work had been completed. It would also explain why Nintendo of America trademarked the names a day or two after the remakes were announced in Japan.

Fourth, these games are remakes. The majority of the text will probably be recycled script from the originals.

Lastly, it would explain why the US Pokemon site has announced Acreus so early. PUSA might be in a rush to give it out at an event before the remakes are released, considering the Shinto Ruins event.

I'm not saying I'm 100% sure about this. I'm just saying there's a fair chance it's true.

Lol you guys will believe anything without looking at all details. Ya'know how it comes with the Pokewalker thingy? Well since it comes with that its price is higher (See the japanese versions for details) it should be around 44-49$ US or Canadian. While Amazon says 34$ (Its not a normal pokemon game!) So this is obviously fake. I even used a money thingy where it told me how much $ the games are by checking the Yen and US $ prices.

No clue where you got that from.

Platinum costs 4800 Yen which is about 50 US dollars.

HG/SS cost 4980 Yen which is about 52 US dollars.

I'm ording the Jap tomorrow and the site I'm ordering from is about 60$

Also they have been releasing English version 1 month earlier from the previous game. So it should be out in February. Also Amazon never said Soul Silver and just because its for NDS doesent mean its Soul Silver. Amazon has been known to post fake games. Like a pirated emerald. So they could have just made Silver onto NDS with D/P/PL graphics and nothing has changed.

As I said earlier, a lot of the text is probably going to be recycled from the originals, considering they're remakes.

In addition, you're comparing a pirated GBA game and an old game with new graphics like they're the exact same thing. Pirated games are easy to make. Taking an entire GBC game and remaking it for the DS's graphics are not.

rikudaman: How does it look fake? Also, a large amount of games don't have a cover on a pre-order page when they first go up.

Do you really think you can just translate something like that in a few moments because it's a remake, otherwise these games would have been out in Japanese a long time ago.

Your post says more about you than the games.

I really don't think it would.

Even in games that aren't remakes, the script is probably one of the easiest things to put in. When you compare it to gameplay, music, features, graphic tiles, and things like that, it really doesn't take long.
 
Im all for the release date but this doesn't look right. Mainly the names. I will wai until more details come in to say anymore. As of now I wouldnt say its confirmed.
 
You can get the ROMS...I'm busting my ass off trying to get HeartGold and SoulSilver ROMS so I can have them BEFORE ANYONE ELSE :D

Anyways... I honestly doubt that the release date (or even a pre-order date) would turn out to be New Years Eve - that in itself raises question marks. Seems a pretty odd date to arrive at, especially as it's not a good one for them. Then there's the lack of info from anywhere else on this, the fact it's a mere 3 months ofter Japan's release (it has never been that quick before and they have no reason to rush things so much either), the lack of an image or even an announcement for this game outside of Japan (which does tend to come out before any release date is mentioned)... etc.

That, and online shops/gaming stores are constantly wrong with their predictions for game release dates, including the Pokemon games - quite often they make stuff up until they get the actual info, unfortunately. *points to previous speculation for the release dates for Diamond/Pearl*

Yes, it's not THAT difficult but not every piece of dialogue will be the same, and there is more dialogue to deal with, potentially given there's two regions. Scripts aren't the only thing that need to be looked at either as well.

There's no 'should'. There's a 'could', but it's far from a given. They're not purposely releasing them one month quicker each time (otherwise by that logic, eventually they'll release it at the same time as the Japanese version, and if you look into how the whole process works, it won't be close to that in the foreseeable future, let alone be that).
