Then I guess we'll in need of a special sweeper...? There are none out there who can learn that many elementals with such a high special attack (non ubar that is), that's for sure... perhaps narrow down what elemental moves do you want this replacement Pokemon to cover, such as "must know how to use an ice move and a psychic move" for example. Right now, it's way too broad...
It doesn't nessesary need to have elementals. But I would perfer it be a Pokemon whose weakness isn't ice or electric. Half my team is already weak agaisnt those types and my Pokeys are barely winning agianst those types cause I've got them all trained (errr...hacked) in speed and SpD EVs.
Nothing really beat a Lum/Calm Mind ?zam with max speed. Pretty devastating. I suppose you could go with Grumpig, though its special attack and speed aren?t near zam?s. It has much better special defense, and that seems to be a priority.
Most Pokemon actually has their EVs trained in spd with one of the attacks. If it's slow, then it'll have some defenses with max in one of the attacks (stallers have total defense)
Let's work out a Pokemon who's strong against ice beam/tbolt users?
Common tbolt/thunder/hp e users (excluding ubars as they learn everything anyway)
-ell electric types
-blissey
-starmie
-gengar
-gardevoir
-Clefable
-Porygon2
-Wheezing
-Regice
Common Ice beam/HP Ice users:
-Starmie
-Gorebyss
-Kingdra
-Suicune
-Magneton (occassionally, as their HP ranges from fire, grass, water or ice)
-(pretty much any water types)
-Porygon2
-Regice
-serene grace Blissey
-Clefable
So... if you know who you have to face, you can plan out how this Pokemon should act against any of these foes... (psst: most are weak to brick break/shadowball cough)
If FR/LG could be accessed, I'd say Espeon. I'm not totally sure of the minor differences between his stats and Alakazam's, but from what I know Spc Atk and Spd are around the same, and all other stats are far more balanced. Psychic is pretty much standard for it, and with the high speed he can actually make use of Bite.
Still, staying with R/S, I'd say Gardevoir. Access to Psychic/Thunderbolt with Calm Mind. Plus in FR/LG (for some reason) Magical Leaf can be learnt. Not that it'd be of much use, but it'd be a funny sight. :)
Espeon doesn?t have the sweepage speed to beat out the Jolts/Crobats/Aeros, but yeah it can CM up and be almost as good of a sweeper. I?d recommend HP Fire or electric though, lest you get stopped by a Skarmory that would blow you away.
... and Suddenly Skarmory doesn't seem too strong when that evil Wheezing/Regice combo appears... that thing stalled me out for a good half an hour last night =/
Espeon isn't as good of a sweeper in comparison to the others due to lack of speed (base 110 is fast but not fast enough). Plus you have a severe lack of movepool unlike Alakazam having all the punches, along with t-wave/trick. Espeon is stuck with having a mix of CM/Sub/BP/Reflect/Psychic/HP and that's about it...
