About the only other useful HM move is Waterfall, and that's only for 2 v 2 if you don't want to lose half your damage due to Surf. Stick to Surf if you're battling normally though.

Hi, can I request a team, too? :). Not many requirements, but er.. It has to be decent in competetive battling. Also, no ubers, or legendaries (I'm against those... for some reason).

A Metagross is welcome.

No: Gengar, Breloom, Exploud, Umbreon, Espeon or Smeargle.

Beats most common starters, and isn't a legendary =/. Also annoys special walls to no end. Add 64 more HP EVs if you like. Zapdos truly belongs here.

Metagross @ Choice Band
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 108 Def / 36 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
- Sludge Bomb

Excuse me for being horrible with Metagross EVs, but 252 Atk is standard.

Weezing (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 180 Def / 36 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Haze
- Pain Split
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp / Flamethrower

I now understand the importance of just a few SDef EVs, but I still see no point in speed. Flamethrower might be a bit more beneficial in this case. For that you'll need a few SAtk EVs.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 120 Def / 88 SAtk / 60 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Hydro Pump / Surf
- Ice Beam
- Protect

You can also use Counter over the second slot, and use this spread:
240 HP / 16 Atk / 212 Def / 40 SDef with Sassy. There's also that Curse moveset, but I rarely use/suggest it.

Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 60 Def / 140 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Return

Fears nothing but Weezing and Gengar.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 140 HP / 166 Spd / 212 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Surf
- Thunderbolt

Doesn't fit on this team, but you need a rapid Spinner, and claydol is redundant for that job.


Still decent though. Needs Zapdos mostly.

edit: E4, Amnesia lax fails. It's a special sponge ffs. It doesn't need Amnesia. It's not even weak to any kind of special attack.

You can also use Choice Band and put QA over Swords Dance, but in the Frontier, I realized that with only 1-2 other pokemon to switch over to, that's not the greatest idea at most times.

EVs: 108 HP / 204 Spd / 196 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind

I know that Swampert's a bit of a hassle, but tat's all i could think of for a frontier team. I diversified the items since that item clause is there.

uhh this is sorta of challenge to see if its possible for to beat e4/Battle tower with -

-3 pokemon only
-no legendaries
-1 starter
-no trading outside sapphire
-no breeding
-beat-teh-game-able-with (EX: NOT like using 1 pokemon only for 6 badges)

I believe this isn't the thread to be posting that in, unless you are asking for a team to do this with. If so:

Medicham (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Pure Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brick Break / Hi Jump Kick
- Fake Out
- Shadow Ball
- Filler

That Filler can be Bulk Up as long as you take the Choice Band off.


You can use a combination of:

- Blaziken/Salamence
- Sceptile/Lanturn
- Swampert/Magneton


Along with Cham, and you can sweep the whole E4 and most likely even the Battle Tower.

There is no such thing as an unbeatable team. Even ubers can be beaten by non-ubers. It's not just about what Pokemon you use, it's about how well you can battle and predict.

I request a mono-grass type team, but with no ubers (I don't think there are any grass ubers) or legendaries (sorry Celebi.). I want it to be good with competitive battling of course, so other than that, it's all I ask.

This might be interesting. I combined my two favorite MEganium sets and got this.

Why is everyone's requests being filled except mine?
I want a team of psychics. Any pokemon (I have Action Replay - so I can get Mew and things like that). Team of 5.
 
BTW Shiftry can get Quick Attack, so relax.

Because your request was a bt wierd O_o. Tell you what, I'll work on a Psychic team when I get time, but it's not gonna have the HM thing goin on.
