I came up with a team ,got it corrected and was told it was weak against gyarados. And it just so happens I've been beaten a few times by gyarados because my only counters couldn't either switch into gyarados after a DD. Now I'm looking for a replacement pokemon that can switch into gyarados after a single DD, still function after KOing it and be able to counter it when it first comes in. Personally I think that blissey would be the one to switch out since a lot of the special I've run into (mainly gengar) I've been able to counter with my other pokemon.

This is my team:

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Megahorn
Stone Edge
Close Combat
Toxic
Adamant; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp
Ability: Guts
This is my lead.

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Swords Dance
Jolly; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp

Tyranitar @ Blackglasses
Crunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Dragon Dance
Jolly; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Roost
Whirlwind
Stealth Rock
Brave Bird
Impish; 108 atk, 148 def, 252 hp
Ability: Keen Eye

Gengar @ Life Orb
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Hypnosis
Timid; 252 sp/spatk, 6hp

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ice Beam
Thunder Wave
Softboilied
Seismic Toss
Calm; 252 def, 176 spdef, 80 sp atk
Ability: Natural Cure

Jynx@Light Clay
Forwarn trait, Timid nature, 31 Spe IV MUST
102 Def/184 SpA/244 Spe
~Calm Mind
~Ice Beam/Blizzard
~Shadow Ball
~Reflect
Any better suggestions? Iv'e seen many here dropping Psychic as it has poor coverage, so I did so as well. Shadow Ball is a OHKO on Banette, right?

Timid nature, leftovers 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Lovely kiss
substitute
Calm mind
Ice beam

The idea is to set up with Substitute and Calm Mind and sweep with Jynx's good Speed and boosted Special Attack.
Lovely kiss will incapacitate your opponent and let you execute the set up-
Ice Beam is the obvious choice because of STAB and type coverage.

I already know the Luna standart, what I'm trying to do is beeing original. I actually used Reflect Jynx in advance, and it worked far more than what one could expect from a 35 base defense. In this generation, I preffer Shadow Ball over Psychic as Shadow Ball OHKOs Banette (does it?) and has better coverage. Psychic just got much worse this generation, but the entire reason I adore Jynx is for beeing an Ice-type so that doesn't matter much to me.

How about focus blast? you can OHKO tyranitar and damage blissey.
ANd maybe grass knot for those water/psychic types, and you can hit hard rhyperior.

Or, if you want to surprise your opponent then use the perish trapper set.
leftover/focus sash
Mean Look
Perish Song
Lovely Kiss
Substitute

Jynx is a bit too physically frail for that, Migmagius or Absol would do better for that.
And I just hate Focus Blast's accuracy, my Lv68 Gengar lost to Candice's Sneasel (it wasn't my only pokemon, don't worry) because of it. Oh, and Rhyperior is Ice-weak anyway.

Skarmory

Alright, I need a bit of help on my Skarmory. It just leveled up to level 50 and it wants to learn Night Slash. My original idea was this move set:

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature
252 HP, 64 ATK, 192 DEF
Air Slash
Spikes
Roar
Roost

But I am not sure about Night Slash, it seems like a fairly good move and could come in handy.

So what should I do?

Drill Peck would be better, but you didn't breed, so use Steel Wing for STAB.

You should ignore Night Slash, as it's a terrible move on him. So is Air Slash. In game, it's great. Against real opponents, it sucks. BraveBird is much better, because it runs off his superior Physical Attack Stats. It also helps to better wall fighters.

Air slash is a special attack :P
Skarm really needs impish, so that needs changing. Since he's offensively lacking you should stay in the regions of STAB moves, with the best choices being drill peck or brave bird. BB is there if you dont mind the idea of hurting your own wall, but of course you have roost to heal it off.

EDIT: I got sniped by teh sims =]

I'm having some trouble with a Blaziken set. Here's what I have so far:
Blaziken@Life Orb
EVs: 252Att, 252Spd, 6HP
Adamant nature
Moves:
Blaze Kick/Fire Punch
Sky Uppercut
Agility
?????
I now need a fourth move. I wanted to use T-Punch but there is no way to get T-Punch and Agility on him. Any other suggestions?

You can NEVAR out-post meh.

Drill Peck is outdated IMO. It doesn't do enough damage, & allows certain pokes like Gyarados to set up on you. Brave Bird can at least scare it away, especially if it has been weakend.

EDIT:OH CRAP, MATT-OUTPOSTED MEH

Why Air Slash? His SPATK is unsalvagable.

Stone edge could be handy, since charizard has a field day at the moment. It just offers better coverage on things your STABs cant touch.

Sounds good, Thanks El Gofre. I had thought of that because of not only getting stopped by Zard but also Mence, Nite, and Gyara.

Oh yeah I meant to include the dragons. Gyara kinda stops you either way with intimidate though.

Salamence does the same thing with intimidate, but I can take care of them with other Pkmn. After one Intimidate Blaziken's Att becomes 245, still enough to hurt Gyara and Mence with Stone Edge. Probably not KO, but hurt.

I just noticed it was special. Damn.

So, who should I breed with for Drill Peck, possibly Empoleon??

Male empoleon and female skarmory would work right?

And I do plan on getting impish btw.

Trust me, Drill Peck is a bad move on Skarmory. It doesn't do enough damage,& you WILL get set up on, while you do next to little damage to your opponent.

No comments about my soon-to-be Jynx?
