So I PMed Orgin about it, and he insists that I use the previous format of just having a huge list of pair-ups and leaving the rest to PM. With that, he gives me a chance of re-making the new pairs thread, if I follow that format.

Well, I don't like it. The last pair-up thread was just dull recording of pairs, and few congratulations from there to there. But what reason did anyone have to look at the thread other then to see or make updates? It wasn't really something to look, to see if something interesting has happened, just the same huge list of pairs being reposted again and again, with a few updates from time to time.

But I knew a better version of the Romantic chat thread before, where people had fun discussing relationships. I'm sure most of you understand relationships are a common topic IRL. On PC, it's even a public place, and we wouldn't post stuff we didn't want everybody to see, so what's wrong with discussing our THOUGHTS on PC relationships? It's not like people would disrespect each other in that respect if someone tells them to stop talking about them. We have enough good PC members for that to not be a problem. It is not only the responsibility of the staff to keep PC clean, but every PC member desires PC to be interesting for themselves.

All I'm asking is that the thread I made there to be re-opened. It will be way more beneficial to PC then the chances of it has of harming members. Most importantly, it will make Other Chat more fun. Is it not a good idea to give the thread such a chance if it has such a potential? It had thrived before in the past, despite some people misbehaving or spamming from time to time.

And a note to concerned PC staff: Please be more open to ideas to new to you.

Well, here's a few problems with your accusations.

You never claimed it to be a new pairing thread. If that's the case, you discuss it with the OC mods first. They manage the larger threads in that forum.

Obviously, you misinterpreted my PMs. I was assuming it was a thread totally seperate from the pair thread, since you never specified that it was a redone pairing thread. All I requested was that you remake it without the inclusion of people being able to discuss people who would make good pairs, especially in a joking manor. It isn't fair to those members.

However, most of my position hasn't changed. Discuss it with the OC mods, and if they approve of it, you can remake it. However, you have to clearly starte the threads purpose, and get rid of part of the thread that allows members to make up pairs.

Obviously, we were misinterpreting each other. However, for future reference, the number of years you've been here does not reflect how well you know PC.

I mainly agree it should be opened, so as long as 22sa restates the thread's purpose and alters a few things, as to make a compromise for the sake of its existence..

    As a side note:

However, for future reference, the number of years you've been here does not reflect how well you know PC.

Er, yes it does. A person who's been at PC for, let's say, three years certainly knows it better than one who has just joined. o_o; Or if I misinterpreted that also...beg pardon. XP

Well, yes, compared to a new member. After a year or two, however, everyone should hopefully fully understand how the forum runs. XD Anyways, that isn't what this topic is about. XD

Heh, my mistake then. Took your comment too specifically [or, generally]. ^_^; Sorry! I'll stop now. XD

I'm pretty sure I DID state the threads purpose, even if it was just a sentence. :\

And I have no reason to refer to mods before posting a thread. They close spam threads, doesn't me I have to convince them to accept my threads I post a thread of my own.

And I do understand what makes a forum interesting. o_O; My time on PC reflects how much time I've spend with the things I like at PC. I know what should be added and what would be beneficial.

So, I'll elaborate more on the threads purpose, so will you re-open it? But I see no reason in pasting the old pairs list. It's old. Let those who still like their pairs re-state themselves. Afterall, the old pairs thread hasn't been around for a while, I'd like the inactive pairs off.

"Try to pair up PC members and discuss active/possible pairs in this thread.

Please add your pairs to the following list."

Nowhere in these two sentences is it clearly stated that its a pairing thread. Not to mention you didn't include any information about what pairing is, or how the thread works. Stuff that members that are new wouldn't know.

I'm sorry, I didn't quite realize that you define what a mod does in the forum they mod.

    Anyways, I'll reopen it. However, I'm deleting every post aside from your post, since the thread is being redefined. You also have to add and remove the stuff I talked about in this thread. Only if you can agree to this, will I reopen it. And please don't continue to drag this on. It's Christmas Eve and I have family stuff to get to. >>;

Well, gosh, the fact that it was the new pairing thread was implied, since I actually had some real pairs listed. So, basically, you closed it because you thought we didn't something some close to the old/existing pairs up thread, not knowing it was the new one. Alright. Typical reason for closing a thread, I guess, even though it should be pretty obvious I know what I'm doing.

I don't mind you deleting all the replies except the first post, though it's really not necessary, since they wasn't exactly flaming or fighting. I'll link the old pairs thread and edit the thread purpose/instructions into my intro post, so re-open it please.
