Hmm... Set your partner to attack then you should keep Thunder Wave (ing). Thats what I did (Except with a Pikachu and Totodile : D)

Yeah, Thunder Wave is a life saver, so use that, some uhh seeds that can cause sleep, confusion or Paralyzation and Gravelrocks... any Items you can throw also work. [I was Meowth and Pikachu was me Partner... we beat him on our first go =3] I kept tossing seeds that confused him and then attacked from a distance... I think I had Water Pulse by then... but I think it was scratch Ohh and Violent Seeds! Those help boost you attack, they worked miracles for us.
