Reshiram & Zekrom Discussion:

Okay so in replace of our previous Reshiram/Zekrom thread we now have a full discussion on the mascots! If you have anything to say about these two, please do right here!

Here's a couple of topics we can all start off on for the discussion. Remember to be as creative as possible and try to keep going on with the discussions at hand and make new ones as well (just not out of the blue, when we're having a lovely conversation debating one topic)! Like weekly polls, you can debate which one is better out of the two or anything related between these two legendaries.

★ Did the mascots have anything to do with you choosing one of the two games?
★ If you had to marry Reshiram or Zekrom, who would you choose? how would your wedding be planned like?
★ Were you satisfied with the amount of legends/facts told between the two? If not, what would you have liked added to tell a more in-depth story for the legendaries?

Honestly, the Legend on the cover did sway my decision when I was choosing which game I wanted. In the end I picked White for Zekrom. It looked much fiercer than Reshiram.




Is it even legal to marry a Pokemon? xD

Well since the first post mentions DESIGNS, I'm going to comment on that. I don't know about all of you, but I think the fur on the front of Reshiram just doesn't suit it at allllll and I'd remove it given the chance. Plus I dunno, there's something about its face that looks dog-like but isn't "quite" entirely dog-like. What do you guys think? I dunno, Zekrom's design is fine but Reshiram's makes me think they tried too hard to make an angelic Pokemon really.

I rather like the fur. I can see Reshiram being a little furry/fluffy. It's better than being hard and cold like Zekrom. :P

So I (poorly) edited out the white fur from Reshiram just because I was curious to see how this would look. I have to say that I actually prefer it being there. n__n The body would look too...I don't even know. I guess I'm just used to seeing it be there.

I agree, Forever. :) To me there is definitely something about Reshiram's facial features which remind me of a dog. XD

Anyway, the two mascots didn't so much have an influence on which version I bought. I bought both Black and White since I like to experience both versions and their differences. Although I guess one could say that owning and capturing both mascots in the different games could count as a "different experience". So to conclude that point, the mascots did have an influence on the versions I chose. :P

What, this looks amazing. :( I think that edit actually makes Reshiram look somewhat normal in comparison to Zekrom, while that fur... is weird. Very weird.

To make matters worse, Zekrom looks like a robot kinda, and not a cat - so we don't have a dog/cat creature in opposition! :(

I know right! :P Basically when I agreed with your Reshiram point the first time, I looked at Zekrom for any potential cat-like features, and as you said; there doesn't seem to be any! ;_;

Reshiram reminds me of a bird/wolf/fox hybrid. :S The feet remind me of a pair of bird's feet "clamped" (?) onto a tree branch. The face of Reshiram to me resembles a fox (reminds me of Vulpix and Ninetails kinda).

Am I the only one who thinks that Reshiram looks similar to Blue Eyes White Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh? (it may not be that way to others, but still). Likewise, Zekrom reminds me of Red Eyes B. Dragon, only that it looks bulkier.

Reshiram was the reason why I started with Black because of the above and the fact its STABs are unresisted (the latter is also which Pokemon I'd use in battle).

I caught both Reshiram and Zekrom. I used the former throughout the rest of the game and I sent the latter to the PC after finding out that its potential was only "decent."

...you know, until now I never noticed Reshiram's feet. I mean I've seen Zekrom's, but I never noticed it looks like a bird's. UH. I'm sure I've seen its feet from somewhere before!

Not the only one, it's what most of us originally thought, though Reshiram looks the closest, imo. I think that's just a coincidental connection rather than them actually being INSPIRED by those.

If I had to marry either Reshiram or the traitor Zekrom, I would have to go with Zekrom because I can't image myself being with a Pokemon that really doesn't have arms and I dont like the color white; I like the color black. It has been my dream to have an all black wedding; not the traditional white wedding. Weird, yes I know but I can't help it.

Really the only thing I like about Reshiram is that he has this fur or feathers, and his head is okay I guess, but other then that he's just meh. Not like I adore Zekrom, but I like him way better than Reshiram, mainly because he kind of reminds me of an electrical dragon-insect kind of thing and he has blue electricity instead of the usual yellow. AND ONE THING THAT IRKS ME is whyy do the recent legendaries just look like robots or machines? They don't look flexibe or moveable? They look stiff and statue/actionfigure like. I can't really imagine Zekrom moving his leg or Reshiram moving his arm. It looks FIXED. That's probably one of the main things I dislike about them (Dialga and Palkia too btw).

I like Reshiram quite a bit more than Zekrom. To me, Zekrom looks a bit like a robot, a bit like a statue. Anyway i think ill pass on marrying a fire breathing or an electric emitting dragon.:cheeky:

I like Reshiram way more better than Zekrom. Zekrom is too... busy for my taste.

★ Did the mascots have anything to do with you choosing one of the two games? Yeah. Even though I really need to have that Reuniclus and Braviary, i chose Black because of Reshiram. (though I have also played White a little afterwards.)

★ If you had to marry Reshiram or Zekrom, who would you choose? Reshiram for the win of course. is this even legal?


And I am not satisfied with the backstory GF gave them. I could use more, like how the creation trio's story was fully elaborated.

I haven't tried any of these two in battle yet, I've only reached the point of battling one and that was on White so I don't know much about Zekrom just yet.

Before they were released, I originally wanted white, because then I assumed Reshiram would be the white mascot. After a while, I decided that Reshiram was too girly of a Pokémon, and Zekrom looked more masculine, so I was going to go with him. After battling N and seeing Zekrom crush Reshiram I convinced myself that Zekrom was the superior of the two (though, in Black, Reshiram probably easily defeats N's Zekrom so that argument isn't very good).

The only thing I would change in the design would be um... well... Reshiram's... um... that thing in it's front that... Oh I'll just say it!!! The thing that makes me think it could be a boy!
