Issue: Retarded Tags

This isn't really a "new problem", but it certainly hasn't been resolved. People obviously didn't read the informative thread on how to tag threads properly. In the past 24 hours, I've seen the following retarded tags:

rate my team
game
casserole
what do you think?
united states
I'm new
smexy
horrible thread
the end
my grandma
problem
issue
feedback
rape

And I'm not even joking. On any of those. I think that the ability to add tags should just be removed altogether if possible.

I agree, they are kind of useless. Most of the information you need to find about a thread can be found in the first post or what not...And most thread titles are self-explanatory. But you can't really totally do away with them, they aren't hurting anyone.

I honestly never liked the idea of tagging. There have been spam tags, and I know to report, but the quantities of the bad tags are just too massive. Probably in every sticky thread I know of, there have been some terrible tags.

Well, if it's a pointless and stupid tag, then report the thread and in your reason for reporting, put that the tags are pointless, irrelevant or inappropriate and the person that moderates the forum will handle the problem.

But otherwise, aside from managing them that way, we can't monitor every tag that gets placed on a thread.

EDIT: Also, if you actually saw a tag that said "rape", that would fall undeer the "inappropriate" category. :|

some pointless tags to note...

I searched tags and found "smexy" on some fanfiction I don't know what's so "smexy" about it.

Speaking of pointless, how about another pointless tag:

"n00b", (as well as "noobs", and the like- applies to several threads in "Wireless Battle Stadium" I don't know what's 'noobish' about those threads)

As for "I'm new", isn't there a dedicated section for new users to post at? (the tag was not valid when I put it in to search)

And "Problem", "issue", and "feedback" should already be labeled as such in their titles when posted in the Questions & Feedback section (here).

At least there's no threads tagged as "rape"!
