Richard Steel's Battle Stadium

Hax kills Pokemon. And there's no way to avoid it.

Even if Snorlax did finish Claydol off, I don't understand how Earthquake didn't KO Blastoise when it should have. His HP was just too low to absorb it like that. Same thing happened with Donphan - an Earthquake from Metagross should have finished him off. But nope! Left him with something like 1 HP. Since damage isn't set in stone (like, a certain attack from a certain poke to a certain poke won't always end up being the same damage, HP-wise), I consider surviving with one HP like that a somewhat hax also. It's just bothering me that Drill Peck from Skarmory did more to Blastoise than Earthquake from Claydol.

And I'm starting to think you put Choice Scarf on your Heracross for the sole purpose of taking out my Starmie... it wasn't like that the first time we battled, or else I never would have kept her in.

Either way, the luck you had with haxes just pissed me off, so my apologies if I'm bitter over that one. All in all I got lucky two times: Focus Blast on Snorlax, and the crit hit against Venusaur, and both meant nothing, really. Paralyzing my Skarmory with Body Slam at the end, that was the tie breaker.

well you know body slam does have a slight chance of paralysis. and your skarm kept stalling and my snorlax kept using body slam so it was bound to happen eventually. it was kind of lucky that it happened in something like 5 turns but hey, sometimes it happens even sooner too.

as for why earthquake did so little to donphan and blastoise, i really don't know. i was surprised how much drill peck did though, definitely... your skarm has how many attack iv/ev's? that metagross incident was weird.. i mean donphan receives significant damage from skarm's drill peck yet it survived metagross' earthquake.

and i didn't know you were going to start out with starmie again. i had heracross because i wanted it there(you can thank aragorn for that because he caught me off guard with one earlier in the day too so i just felt like having one also) :P would you have preferred that i would know you have skarm bliss and carried a magneton instead? :D

haha, Magneton/Magnezone pisses me off as well. XD

Aragornbird caught me with a Choice Scarf Heracross... but he thought I'd switch Starmie, so he used Pursuit, which didn't OHKO. Sadly, Psychic didn't OHKO him.

The whole battle was very weird in that sense. It seemed like the damage coming from my Pokes was completely whacked. And every time it left your guys with something like 1 HP... I only even used Earthquake on Donphan because I was sure it'd KO him without risking the accuracy of Meteor Mash.

My entire plan was to let Blastoise take out Skarmory, bring in Claydol, KO with Earthquake, out comes Snorlax (who is insanely slow, so Claydol would outrun him), he gets hit with Spikes, and two Earthquakes should have been enough to take him out, maybe three if you take into account Leftovers, while Crunch would do slight damage, but Snorlax isn't the greatest attacker out there, and I'd knock him out before he used Rest, and even then I get two free turns. I was sure I had a game plan, but Blastoise surviving Earthquake messed me up completely.

Maybe if I hadn't accidentally kept Blissey in against Heracross (meant to switch... pressed Attack, and didn't have time to fix my mistake since it goes straight to Seismic Toss, after being Encored).

well, if you switched blissey, who was going to take the close combat? your skarm wasn't at full hp and if you had switched to skarm to take close combat, its hp would have gone into way yellow, and it would have been a KO the next turn. i actually thought you sacrificed blissey for strategic purposes since it seemed like the right move at the time. sacrifice blissey, drill peck to take out heracross, and then duke it out with blastoise and snorlax 2 on 2. you had a slight chance of course, but at that point i was pretty comfortable with blastoise just dishing out surf and snorlax at full hp ready to go if blastoise goes down.

Nah, I'd have sent out Claydol... he resists Fighting moves, and resists them very well. Considering his Defense is higher than Special Defense, and he absorbs Focus Blasts, even from [Life Orb] Alakazam, like they were candy, I'm positive he'd have taken a Close Combat like it was nothing. Give him a chance to Rest, you'd most likely switch (even if you didn't, Claydol would survive two more to OHKO with Earthquake after Cross' Defense was lowered so much from Close Combat) and then go from there.

That mistake was without a doubt what initially cost me the game. Paralysis on Skarmory was what sealed the deal.

you up to battling me now?

Hey peeps, sorry for the delay... got stuck watching a movie.

But I'm back now, and accepting all challenges! I've learned quite a bit from my last battle... mainly that Choice Scarf Heracross sucks major portions of ass, but I think I'm up to a few other battles, if anyone be interested.

Just let me know!

Oh, I don't discriminate... I hate them both equally.

Tonight is a bad night for hax... the battle I had, Electivire froze two of my guys IN A ROW with Ice Punch. Since when does that happen?

Richard, i want to you again! do you have the time?

I will battle you, but not now I will PM you.

its fine. i am still here wating...hey why did you disconnect?

darn, still have no wins.......T.T(L for loser)

haha, Luigi, you nincompoop! Earthquake's power is increased when used against someone who's under ground during the first turn of Dig! Not only that, but Claydol is immune to Ground attacks anyways...

And you burned me twice... once was like the third turn. Wtf is up with that? haha, but I got you back with a critical hit against Porygon-Z.

I think I'm done with battles for tonight... sorry, guys. I've been getting some bad haxes today, and while I'm not superstitious, I do believe today just isn't the battling day for me.

EDIT: jibbyjew, are you really jonesing to face me? Because I'd prefer to wait until tomorrow (sometime before 3pm), but could do a quickie tonight if you want!

definately richard!
ive been wanting to battle you for a while!
:)
