Richard Steel's Battle Stadium

a tip to everybody who has trouble beating richard, go get yourself a nice magnezone(well it doesn't even need to be nice. it can have 0iv's and not yet ev trained and can be a none evolved magnemite).:D and when you see skarmory, just throw it in there and watch skarmory struggle hopelessly(well, no you won't actually get to see it struggle because it gets OHKO'ed by tbolt). i'm only posting this because i see some people replicating his skarm bliss idea and i just think i better tell them the way to beat it rather than have them try to replicate richard's success. you're not going to beat him at his game.

Guess who's here Richard! No it's not me... wait yes it is!

When would you like to battle? I'm free for a few hours. :P

Sure thing, let me hop on WiFi real quick like.

And c_dog, now why'd you hafta go an do that? XD

Nah, bring on the Magnezones! Their only use is killing Skarmory, but besides that they're generally worthless.

lol, i was directing that at murderface who apparently replicated your skarmory strategy? just wanted to let him know he'd be better off carrying a skarmory counter if he had that much trouble. and yes magnezones are generally worthless. usually when they take down skarms they in turn get taken down by metagross/garchomp rather easily.

Actually, regarding Metagross, that gets pretty interesting... because if you max out Magnezone's Speed EVs, he can outrun the standard, non-Agility Metagross in time to pull off a Magnet Rise and watch Metagross struggle helplessly as he's Thunderbolted to death. This doesn't count if Metagross has max Speed EVs, though.

Lemonade:

I'm on! Where you be?

EDIT:

Well... this is bizarre. Won't let us connect?

I was there but it said you failed to respond?

EDIT: Now I got a communication error, I'm right beside my WiFi adapter.

I'm right beside my router myself.

This happened before with Mecha Wolf, I think.

EDIT: Let me try resetting my router, maybe that will help...

Can Richard, or anyone, give me a quick IV Battle? I'll run and give you the win?

oh yeah, i remember reading that somewhere(magnezone outspeeding metgross to use magnet rise).. i think in cema's thread maybe. i wouldn't know since i never used a metagross competitively against a magnezone.

has your blissey ever been trapped by a dugtrio though? cuz dugtrio switching into a twave from blissey is almost like magnezone switching in on skarm. the only way blissey can save herself would be if she had counter since it usually takes 2 earthquakes to take her down.. it's a shame dugtrio's aren't as common anymore but if i had a blissey problem i'd pack a dugtrio too. magnezone+dugtrio is the best counter to skarm bliss, imo.

Richard, I was kinda dumb for using Porygon-Z against Gengar, I was hoping Focus Blast would miss. xD

It missed once before, the odds were in my favor. :-P

We're starting to lag... hope it doesn't cut out on us.

ugh, I can't wait to have a battle with you, Richard. Be ready for me tomorrow, because I gotta get up early for work in the morning

Richard, I already know I lost, want to give me some pointers? xO

I'm thinking of replacing Electivire for a Garchomp. And my Frosslass for someone else. Perhaps an Espeon? Or maybe an Aerodactyl. Or Gallade... can't decide. :\

Richard, when the battle is done. Can you stay on Wi-Fi and accept my battle challenge? I need to type my Poke's stats.

EDIT: Oops, only brought one Poke with me. SORRY! Can you sign back on please?

Sure. Just D/C when you're done! (Oops, already did. XD)

BIG: Oh, I'll be ready! I'm always ready. But I have work from 7pm on, so make sure to catch me before then!

Lemonade: Electivire is a great Poke; highly overused, and extremely predictable, but he always gives my team problems. Garchomp is also very overused, but I do suggest replacing Frosslass if you want to make a change. Maybe you could replace her for Garchomp? Gallade is an excellent choice also (swept me once). However, my hat goes off to Aerodactyl, someone I think everyone should fear. Just make sure he's Jolly natured if you do go with him, so he can outrun nearly everyone. Because my Starmie can outrun an Adamant Aero... but not Jolly Aero. And Starmie is the fastest Poke on my team.

EDIT: Sure, Shift. Be right there.

Again, just D/C when you're finished!

See, my Electivire is 31 Speed IVs, 252 Speed EVs and Jolly natured. He's perfect speed. He's still not fast enough though to do much damage. And with a Life Orb it still doesn't seem to do too much.

I've done pretty good on Netbattle before, and Aerodactyl is almost always in my team. For a D/P Aerodactyl moveset is this good?

Aerodactyl @ Choice Band
Pressure
Jolly
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
-Crunch
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Thunderfang

Is that good?

EDIT: Or perhaps even a Staraptor? 120 Attack and 100 Speed seems pretty good.

Thank you lots Richard. Much love from your boy/girl Shift!
