Alright posted my invitation on wifi waiting for you now Mr steel.

I have a new addition to my team Richard, so if I don't go to my friends house before you're done with this battle, wanna go a round?

Sure, although we've battled enough times for you to know my team inside and out... but I may have to crack out a few new Pokemon. I'll let you know when I finish up with Dragun.

EDIT:

Alright, we're back in business! No Voice Chat, please. Just press X to turn it off, or accept my invite.

Something is wrong I think, we can't seem to connect to each other for some reason :S, never mind I got your invite, I was trying to invite while u had your invite up :S:S:S

Well... that's just about the worst luck a guy could have: I Whirlwind Salamence away, and Magnezone gets dragged out. Actually, that's the second time that's happened to me. Oh well.

Well you beat me XD, I thought item clause was on though?

Nah, I never play with Item Clause. Sorry, I guess I should specify that... Item Clause never works because you need at least two walls, with two Leftovers. It just doesn't work out logically any other way.

But that was a close match alright. I was having fun with your Skarmory at the very end, because I knew Starmie would survive two switches with the Spikes and Stealth Rock. And that would activate the berry, and let her pwn. But I didn't expect an unboosted Thunderbolt to do as little as it did. Did you max out Special Defense or something? Usually Skarmory doesn't survive Starmie.

We haven't had a go in a while. Feel like having a match?

Sure, I could do a quickie. Let me fix up my team, and I'll meetcha on WiFi!

EDIT:

I'm on now, Itachi. Whenever you get on, I've got an invite up.

Hmmm... methinks you D/Ced, Itachi. It normally doesn't D/C without a delay, and our battle shut down just as Gengar was about to be OHKOed. I should hope you didn't intentionally D/C, but that's the way its looking. :-/

No, I was on the porch, too far away to have a good connection. And therfore, the battle ended in a communication error.

Steelix did do well! I love that big Steel snake, but he tends to take a bit too much damage from super effective physical hits. I practically maxed out his Defense (gave him the same EV spread as the standard Skarmory), and even with close to 530 Defense, he still gets dented pretty badly by Earthquake and Focus Punch.

STAB is using the same attacking type as the Pokemon's type using it, and the attack gains a 1.5 boost. For example, Earthquake on Metagross is not STABed, so it stays at a base 100 power. But Earthquake from Garchomp is STABed, so it automatically becomes 150 base power.

That's why whenever you're in a situation that a Pokemon can't hit a foe for super effective damage, you always use a STAB attack. For example, if you have an Alakazam without Energy Ball up against a Donphan, some people may use Focus Blast because it has a godly 120 base damage. But Psychic gets a STAB (1.5 boost), so it becomes an automatic 135 base damage, which is more than Focus Blast. So the apparently 90 base Psychic will in fact do more neutral damage than a 120 base Focus Blast, just because it's the same type as Alakazam.

Hopefully all that made sense. XD
hey that was exactly what i was thinking because when i was in a wifi battle i used dragon pulse on a blastoise with charizard and didnt do much damage of course. Then i used flamethrower and did close too(or more)damage as if i have used dragon pulse.

Also in the batte tower i had metagross and used earthquake on Feraligatr and didn't do much damage. But then i used Meteor Mash(i was trying to get an attack boost)and did around the same amount of damage and if not it probably did more damage.

So anyways thanks for answering me that question Richard Steel:).

Well Richard, I'm up for a battle when you get on, hoping I'll do better than normal this time though. I think other than that time I won by extreme hax the best I've done against you is getting you down to 2 pokemon.

hi, i want to battle, up for it?
