I can see lots of ROMS on the Forums, like Pokemon ShinyGold. Why are these roms allowed for downloads when this breaks the rules?

Yes, we use patches, so it's not illegal, and there is no chance of them being confiscated, THAT would be illegal.

ROMs are illegal to be distributed around here, and anywhere else, I believe, but we are not distributing ROMs here, instead, we put them in a patch file which is legal to distribute and to showcase...

Hoping this clears your confusion on the difference between ROMs and patches... :\

Indeed. We do illegal things and give them out legally to people to play illegally. Well, we do something illegal, but the forum's got nothing to do with it. No ROMs are distributed here. If they are, you'd probably get an infraction. :D
Patches are perfectly legal and we use that lovely loophole so everyone else can enjoy our games. :D
