Can a Nitendo DS be compatible with a WPA signal? And if so how do you connect it?

Only the DSi can connect to a WPA secured network. The original DS and the DS Lite can only connect to WEP or open networks.

Just remember that most of the games out now still use WEP. I hate that.
The game being played has nothing to do with the encryption on the network.

A real consideration to remember is that the DSi does not play GBA games so if you still want that feature, either keep a GBA around or switch your network to WEP. I guess you could also pick up one of those Nintendo Wi-Fi connectors if you can find it too.

The encryption itself, no. But, if you want to play games on WiFi, Pokemon included, you'll need a WEP router.

So I'm pretty sure the game does have an affect depending on the encryption setting.
No, this really isn't true. Take Pokemon, stick it in a DSi connected to a router secured with WPA, and you will still be able to connect. The only reason WEP (or open) would be required for online play is if your particular model of DS cannot connect to the WPA secured network the OP wants.
