Rurouni Kenshin fanclub

I checked the manga, both the prekyoto pages and the pastkyoto pages (Enishi's fight), and they are -indeed- both black with a white cutting edge.
I guess that just how Watsuki draws his sowrds, I think. =O
I don't mind it. =/
I'm planning on rereading the manga soon. ^_^ And after my sister and finished the anime, I'm going to watch Seisouhen again. I can bear it. I will cry again, but I don't mind. XD

Look what I found! So cute.
Spoiler:

Oh, you are a great fan of Hitokiri battousai, I take it. XD
He is cool though. 8D You know what, you can have the anime/manga version, I take the OVA version. =D
Spoiler:

NOW FOR PICTURES!!!

Spoiler:

OMG look what I found!

Spoiler:

Oh wow. I like that last one. It's my msn background. ^_^

Spoiler:

I think the difference between anime and OVA Kenshin is the shiny highlights and the anime-ish strands of hair on top of his head. And the color, of course. Is it me or is Kenshin's scar larger in the anime?

NIHA! I got the Director's cut of Seisouhen. 8D
It has those adorable scenes of Kenji growing up in it. 8D I love those. XD
The normal version, which consists of two episodes, doesn't. D:

Spoiler:

Meh, they look pretty similar to me. =O
The big difference between Anime/Manga Kenshin and OVA Kenshin is the size of the eyes. Whereas MKenshin's eyes are HUGE, OVA kenshin's eyes are smaller, to give a more realistic feeling. It's not just the eyes, the way the nose, mouth and hair are drawn different. =/
The colours are much darker in the OVA, compared to the Anime itself.

From what I've seen, I like the anime Kenshin better. Cus his hair... Still, he's cool either way. He just seems more
Kenshin-ish with his red mop.

I have a hard time choosing. I love the Anime Kenshin, don't get me wrong... but there's something about the OVA version that I love as well. =D

yey, second page.

Man. I wonder if there's many other Ruroken fans here. >-< there should be cus it's epic!
Hmm. I think the more "real" aspect of the OVA art is appealing. But I like anime style too. For the exact opposite reason: that it's more "cartoony". O_o they both just look amazing!

Ah, I know there are people around pc that like Rurouni Kenshin (or as they call it: Samurai X), judging by the people who rated/commented on my signature.
Maybe they don't know the actual title of Samurai X is Rurouni Kenshin? Or maybe they don't feel like joining a club for such an "old" anime/manga? I don't know, really.
Despite it's age, it is a classic, a story that has appealed to many and wil appeal to many more to come.
And I like the Japanese name much more than the other english name (that got to be because of dubbing rights). Rurouni is a word that's made up by the author, coming from "Rounin" (Samurai without a master) and "Ru", which comes from some form of "to wander".
I find that very cool. =D

Hi guys~

I'm here to join now ♥

So there's really only 3 of you guys here? My friend, dreams-epilogue, said he likes Ruroken, so maybe I can get him to join. :3

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know 'Rurouni' was made up by Watsuki.

Ruroken isn't very old, lol. But then I still feel like the 90s were yesterday, not almost 10 years ago I thought being old/classic was something that would make a series more appealing? I guess it's still in that gray area where it's old but not old enough to be classic. It's a classic in my opinion, though~

Well since the story is already historical, it can't get "out of date." So I think it'll definately be enjoyed by others in the future.
Also the characters are really all loveable and interesting. Even though the story is fairly long, I think it definately doesn't get tired.
These things make it enough of a classic type of story for me. >.<

Oh yeah. I think it's a great story. It has a little bit of everything; action, romance, humor, and tragedy. Definitely classic. I guess what I meant was how stuff first gets old, and then becomes classic, if that makes sense. :3

Thanks for joining, Kinarii. Hope you have a great stay here. ^-^

That's true, Ruroken has something for everyone. Great Action during some of the greatest battles, suspension (I remember I had to stop watching right after Aoshi showed up during Shisio's fight. Gawd, I couldn't wait 'till I was back home to watch the remaining episodes). There is the romance between Kaoru and Kenshin, Tsubame and Yahiko (it's still cute), and to a lesser extent, there are hints to whom could become Sano's partner, or Megumi's... But bubbles are there to pop...

Humor, deffinitally. XD Remember drunk Kaoru in episode 24? That was hilarious. And let's not forget our dear Ken-san going "oro?"
There is tragedy in the anime, but if you want a tragic story, the OVA's will provide plenty.
The manga as well, but the Ova's were amazing in that part. ._.

Yeah, I watched the first OVA the other day. I'm glad I didn't watch it several years ago when I was a crazed little fangirl, though. It was beautiful, but very tragic. Even the somewhat happy moments were melancholy.

To be honest I don't think I ever even got as far as the Shishio fight ._.;;

But~ I'm not one to be bothered by spoilers at all, and I've heard most of them anyway, and seen/read bits and pieces of later arcs.

You're in.
You are welcome, that you are. ^^

Exactly. I consider it to be one of the best OVA's, if not Anime, I've ever seen. Have you seen the second as well? Although many people hate it, I love(d) it. And I'm deffinitally going to watch it again someday soon. I'm just kinda reluctant, because I know I'll be crying my heart out again.

You don't know what you're missing. D: Go watch/read it, please? D: There's so much good stuff to come.

Oh of course I'll watch the rest. I really don't know why I haven't yet. I guess I keep getting distracted every time I try going through it or something.

The soundtrack is so catchy and awesome. I'mma go figure out where I was last time and go from there~♥

At the moment I'll refrain from seeing the second OVA ('cause I need to see happy things right now), but I'll see it for sure at some point. :3

I doan't want Sano to have romance!! >~< *throwing mini fit*
Haha anyway.
Kotowari! Out of the anime, and OVA, which was better??
Cus I'm trying to figure out which I'd rather watch first. Though I may not start till after the manga.

If you're looking for an answer just to watch the OVA or the Anime, I won't answer the question.
I will straightforwardly tell you that you should watch the Anime first, the way it was intended.
Then watch the first OVA, and then the Second one. In the Manga, the first OVA is included after the Kyoto arc... but since you said you will probably watch the anime after finishing the Manga, it won't really matter... It's up to you. But I would still reccomend watching the anime first.
Deffinitally watch Seisouhen (2nd OVA) last. It is -after all- the Final chapter in the story.

And now my oppinion. I was declaring that I loved the artstyle of the OVA's more than the Anime. Don't get me wrong, I love the artstyle of the Anime, it's just, that of the OVA seems to be more appealing to me somehow.
Also, the music of the OVA's is brilliant. Here are 4 examples. Two of Tsuiokuhen and two of Seisouhen.
Spoiler:

The OVA's are much more darker compared to the actual anime, and are meant for a more serious/older public. Don't expect jolly fanboys/girls to fully appreciate the OVA's. =/
You have to stand open for the harsher OVA's... specially Seisouhen. Okay. the Jinchuu arc was rubbish in the OVA, but I liked it. I certainly did. Even though OVA Jinchuu was nothing compared to the Manga Jinchuu, I liked it. And the ending was beautiful. You just have to stand open for it. Because the atmosphere is just so different from the original, yet is the same. =D

Of course I'll be watching them ALL. >.<
I was just trying to decide where to start.
And OH MY GOSH...
That music... Is just... WOW. Amazing.
It pretty much makes me want to fall in love with the OVA already... <3
I especially like the last one. ^_^ Epicness.
