Well, I wrote this here last year, and decided to move it over here, because, well, the site I had it on before is kinda....you know, dead. XD

Anyways, I intend to continue from where I left off, in addition to making chapters longer than my nineteen year-old self would. :D

    Here we go:

Hehehe, how many of you thought I would start this, eh? Enough of you, right. ^_^

Anyways, this is the story of Sabrina's early days as a trainer, and the events leading up her presence in my other fanfic, the Canadian League. I have always wanted to write this, and for some reason, I decide to start on Valentine's Day. How Ironic. O_O

    Okay then, here goes:

    Sabrina's Story

Chapter One - A Psychic is Born

    June 19th, 1986

    Saffron City, Japan

It was late at night in Saffron City, and a stormy night at that. The streets were flooded as people drove on to their respective destinations. Many were going home to their families, while others were headed to work for the night shift.

Michael was one of these people. He worked nights at Silph Co., studying the effects of the newly discovered items, and whether they were safe to be used on Pokemon. Currently, he was working on an item called PP Up, which would allow a Pokemon to use more of a particular move before going to a Pokemon Centre.

Michael could barely see through the windsheild this night. It felt very odd, all the rain. It barely rained this heavily; only during monsoon season, he thought to himself. And even then, not this much.

Finally arriving at work, Michael parked his car at the rear and ran the few metres to the entrance. Despite being out there for just a few seconds, he was drenched upon walking throught the front doors.

"We have a little shower out there, eh?"

Michael looked up. He saw Joan, the woman at the reception counter. Her clothes looked dry, proof that she either had a Magmar, or that she had been working for most of the day.

"Heh, I guess so," Michael responded.

Joan's eyes then lit up. "Say, congratulations on the new baby," she said, giving him a smile that was as warm as she looked.

"Thanks," Michael responded, amazed at how quickly the word got out.

"What is it, a boy or a girl?" Joan asked.

    "A girl," he answered. "Sabrina."

    Chapter Two - The Doll

    October 11th, 1991

Michael and Kimberly had a beautiful and healthy baby girl named Sabrina. Within a few weeks, she had begun to walk. The doctors said it was amazing for a child so young. From then on, her parents decided that she might just be gifted.

Kimberly was a Mathematician, and she hoped that her reasoning skills had been passed down to her daughter. So, when Sabrina had turned three years old, she began showing her some simple math equations. Sabrina understood right away, confirming her mother's theories.

But this was found not to be the case when her father began looking at the work with her. It was like she had never seen the material before in her life.

And then it was discovered. Sabrina hadn't inherited anything from her mother at all. Her abilities came from her father's side of the family. She was a Psychic.

Several more years passed, and Sabrina's powers grew enormously. At first, she was only able to read minds as was seen with her mother, but now she was capable of teleportation, psychokinesis, transmutation, and even telepathy.

She was, it seemed, too powerful for her age. Of course, she would use her talents usually for play purposes, but both of her parents knew that that would not last.

Her mother was away one weekend, off at some convention. Michael was left with Sabrina, now a fully realized Psychic, at just six years old.

Michael had went to find his daughter, to take her out for ice cream. What he found was a life size doll of her.

"What could this mean?" he asked himself, taking the doll in his arms. And then, to his utter amazement, the doll's eyes opened, looking him straight in the face.

"Hello Daddy," the doll said. "Would you like to play with me?"

Michael was, to say the least, shocked. Turning around, he saw the real Sabrina, a flat expression on her face. She levitated into the play room, looking hard at the doll that lay at her father's feet. It held all of her old self, the part of her that just wanted to have fun. Now, she was free of that forever.

<Stupid doll,> Michael could hear his daughter saying in his head. <I should have done this a lot sooner. Now, without of the feelings of that little girl, and I fully achieve my full potential!>

With that, she let loose a burst of energy from herself, enveloping the room. Michael looked around frantically, as his daughter's play things began levitating from the ground.

The walls began to crack, as the house was too frail to withstand Sabrina's might. He could hear the crashing of windows, the splintering of wood, and the buzzing of the power lines being zoned out.

And all the while, the doll was laughing hysterically. "Isn't this fun, Daddy!"

Michael teleported out of the house, just as the floorboards gave way, as the house began to collapse.

Chapter Three - Sabrina's First Pokemon

    December 1st, 2002

The house was destroyed beyond repair. Michael could do nothing but watch as his home crumbled before his eyes, leaving only Sabrina, levitating right above it.

After that, things just kept getting weirder. Without her fun-loving side, Sabrina used all of her free-time practicing her powers.

Not only could she bend spoons, but she could bend forks and knives as well. And she nearly gave up walking all together, levitating or teleporting herself to wherever she needed to go.

But soon she had began thinking of what she wanted to do with her life. As fun as it seemed, she wasn't going to develop her skills forever.

She considered going into a life of crime. She had visions of herself capturing the mighty Moltres, of all things. But she felt there was something better.

Walking around town one day, she came across the Fighting Dojo, which was the city's Pokemon Gym. She could hear several grunting men inside, along with their Fighting Type Pokemon.

Now, this did not please Sabrina. She would have preferred a Gym with more class. In fact, she thought, while looking at the abandoned building next to the Dojo, a building quite like that.

A few weeks later, and Sabrina had decided to become a Pokemon trainer. She didn't have any Pokemon of her own, but that wouldn't last long. With that, she had set off for Route 5, just north of town.

She came upon a wild Oddish, and fainted it quickly with her Psychic powers. A Meowth was next, who just ran away screaming. Sabrina was shocked, as she could tell that it was a special Meowth, perhaps even capable of speech one day.

But nonetheless, she wasn't looking for a Meowth. Or an Oddish. Or, as proven by the many fainted Metapod on the ground, she didn't care for a Butterfree either.

Then, an amazing thing happened: an Abra teleported into the field, right before Sabrina. "Gotcha," Sabrina said, still with an expressionless face.

The Abra took one look at her, and began to leave as the others had. But, Sabrina held the Pokemon in place, preventing it from Teleporting using her own Psychic abilities.

Then came the Poke Ball. It launched into the air, capturing the Abra inside. The ball fell to the ground, rolled a few times, and then sauntered off to the side.

    Abra was caught!

And although Sabrina still had an expressionless face, she was happy.

    Author's Note:
    Short, this is.
    Long, it will be.
Why I am speaking like Yoda,
    no idea, I have.
    ^_^

Oh, it's good! I liked the reference of Meowth of Team Rocket. You keep writing, and I'll keep reading. :)

    this seems cool...

    so far, so good!

I thought this was pretty good; I always thought Sabrina and her little psychic powers were cool. XD

Anyway, I would suggest making the chapters longer (I think you know that, though) and, uh, not revealing three at once next time. I would say to wait two to three days, if not more, so you can make sure you spot all grammar/spelling errors and just make it the best you can.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the next chapter. =) ayyayay

I still know this fanfic from back then when it was first posted...*sighs* and I was hoping for an update!!!
Anyway, not how I would describe Sabrina's childhood, but hey, it's the author's interpretation. ^^
I love the doll. Heheh...I love killer dolls. Hehehehe...XD
But is it only me or are the dates quite...random?
And it better long be or kill you I will! XD *can't speak like Yoda, but tries at least*

Very good. Very good indeed. I love it.

Thanks for all the compliments, folks! Let's see what I can add to this after a year, XD.

And it better long be or kill you I will! XD *can't speak like Yoda, but tries at least* Yes, ma'am. :D

    Chapter Four - Kadabra

Sabrina began training Abra almost immediately. Both of them were Psychic, so it was fairly easy for the two to communicate. At most instances, one knew what the other felt without having to utter a word.

Sabrina was especially happy the day that Abra evolved. The two were back on Route 4, where the two had originally met. They had come up against a wild Gloom. But not just any Gloom; this one was nasty looking, with leaves that went straight down to the ground. It's mouth was foaming with a putrid-smelling mixture, that would have made most people pass out.

Abra materialized from within her poke ball, and eyed the Gloom curiously. A grin appeared on her face as she realized that this fight may just proove challenging. She looked to her trainer, who was standing off to the side. She did not have a similar smile, though Abra expected that. She had never seen Sabrina smile since they first met, not even once. But she could sense the passion in her voice when she told her to attack the foul fragranted beast.

Abra was first to move, levitating above the ground, and racing towards the Grass-Poison Type. Gloom's eyes grew wide when it realized that the woman before him was actually planning to fight. That surprising look soon switched to worry as he attempted to dodge the incoming Psychic Pokemon. Her left palm was already blazing with fire energy, preparing to slam into her opponent.

Gloom's leaves rose up from the ground, and began absorbing light from the sun. Now Sabrina had figured it out: the leaves were at such a size so that it could take in more sunlight than the average Gloom. And in the process, his toxicity apparently grew as well, making him a quite force to be reckoned with. If Abra made contact with it....

But Sabrina need not worry. She knew very well that if she had figured it out, Abra had as well. At the very last second before she would have made contact, Abra teleported away. Gloom, still absorbing sun energy, got big eyes once again, as he scanned the area for his opponent.

But he had no time to react by the time he found her. Abra had rematerialized just a metre away, just out of Gloom's sight. As Gloom watched helplessly, Abra slammed her still blazing fist into the soil. At first, Gloom wondered why she would waste an attack like that. But then she clued in, catching a glimpse of the sly grin spreading across the Pokemon's face.

She didn't put her flame out by impacting the ground. Instead, she had set a fire in the grass. Gloom watched as the patches of grass near Abra began to crackle and burn. It looked almost as if Abra were controlling the flames as they skipped along, from blade to blade.

Gloom was growing warmer as the flames made contact with his body. He fell short of screaming and running away, for he knew he still had the energy to defeat her. His Solarbeam was almost ready to be set loose.

Sabrina was watching all this from the sidelines, hoping that Abra would do her best, while remaining relatively emotionless nonetheless. If she wanted to become stronger, she could not lose in a simple fight like this!

Abra remained levitating over the charred grass, wondering if that was it for her opponent. Gloom lay on his back on the ground, some toxins leaking out of his mouth onto the ground. As Abra watched, he saw the ground breaking up as a result, apparently being broken down by the stomach acid.

But more importantly, Abra did not sense any fear in the beast. No, only pleasure, as Gloom stood up once again, and began glowing a brilliant golden-yellow colour. Abra could hear energy building from inside the thing. And then-

    SSSSHHHHHHEEEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!

"Abra, watch out!" Sabrina yelled out. She had sensed the Pokemon's potential from the start of the fight, but didn't realize just how far it would go.

Abra could hear the concerns from her trainer, but she wasn't about to back down just yet. She stood her ground, and waited for the Solarbeam to get as close as it could before she'd teleport away.

Sabrina could tell that this was her Pokemon's intention, and it seemed as though it would work. But as the Solarbeam enveloped the little Pokemon, she could see her becoming illuminated with the light of the beam. She had failed.....

A few moments later, and Gloom's attack had finished. He stood there with a look of glee on his face, as he scanned the area where Abra had been hit....

    Nothing was there!

Sabrina looked as well, and was astonished to see that Abra had managed to teleport anyways. The wheels in her head began turning, and soon she began to put the pieces together.

But as for Gloom, he didn't have time for this, or much of anything, for that matter.

A flash of light enveloped the area, as Abra reappeared in the same spot where she had disappeared. Though she was not an Abra anymore.

Over twice the size as she once was, Kadabra stood there gazing across the grass at the mutant Gloom. Sabrina could see that the star on her face was glowing brilliantly, rivaling that of the Ruby. She held her new-found spoon in front of her face, and focused her mind.

Gloom was suddenly the one floating above the ground, glaring at the Psychic Pokemon before him. At the spoon as Kadabra flicked it forward so smoothly. And then at the sky as he flew through it.

Sabrina looked to her new Kadabra, with the closest thing to praise she could muster. "Well done, Ab-I mean, Kadabra," she said, recalling her back into her poke ball. "Well done."
