History:
Born the son of a wealthy politician and unbeatable Socialite, and raised to be a polite, gentlemanly and honourable aristocrat in the lap of luxury, Adam has had what one would call a privileged upbringing, away from the dregs and drugs of a city and far from the filth and squalor of the country. With all the best things life has to offer- Shiny new gadgets, ancient tomes or the newest book, stylish designer clothes and tip-top education, the young master Locke has the makings of a fine gentleman, or on the flipside an insufferable snob.
He was treated as a prince from day one, with round-the-clock attention and soft, plush mattresses. His every move was doted on, and his smallest achievement was congratulated and rewarded with -another- toy. When he first started speaking, his mother was keen for him to learn to read and write with her grace and elegance, and treat others with her polite graces, whilst his father wanted him to become a keen, uncomprimising and oppurtunistic young man like himself. Adam genuinely hated the social training his mother imposed, but found his father's approach a lot more fun.
As a gentleman, it was demanded of him to be a trainer of unparallelled skill. As such Pokemon training was next on the agenda, by pulling strings and changing the rules ever so slightly Locke was given training from the age of 7. His youthful enthusiasm and absorbance of information as well as his brilliant teachers gave him a great start in the trainer's world, using rare and exotic Pokemon, of which he had trouble befriending- he was unused to having partners over servants. But nevertheless, he succeeded in winning his Pokemons hearts and minds, and as such has had reasonable success on this front.
He was introduced to Professor Ren as soon as he had learnt enough about types and their strengths and weaknesses to be called a rookie trainer. The Professor was paid a handsome sum to teach Locke about the necessary components of raising Pokemon, and during the extensive education the two forged a strong relationship. As such, the mix of Locke's promise as a trainer and his friendship with Ren meant that he was invited to go along with the Professor. And, of course, such an adventure was an exhilirating prospect for a young man of fifteen who's life's biggest excitement was falling down the stairs.
Personality:
A shrewd and determined young man with a detrimental agenda, Adam hopes to make his name as a brave and daring hero of exploration and advancement, and grab himself a shiny oppurtunity to grab Political power upon his undoubtedly succesful return to his homeland. The new Pokemon of the region and the possible new colonization is a distant second to him, unless of course, the Pokemon were able to secure his power in the future. Cunning, moralless and charismatic, Adam is a dangerous opponent, ont he battlefield or as a social opponent.
He doesn't see people as friends or enemies- he sees them as obstacles, that, if need be, will be removed, like a thorn in his foot. Some would say he has no conscience, but the truth is he's never had contact with anyone but like-minded individuals. As such, he sees others as inferior, and those who stand in the way of his ambition soon learn not to. As such, he feels no inclination towards love, romance or friendships. Petty little distractions for the poor.
Despite his somewhat shocking exterior, Adam has a strong sense of religion, much to his father's distaste, which induces him to help those truly in need. It's just a matter of hitting his somewhat rare sympathy with undying accuracy, and for him personally, a journey to find what's more important to himself- power and fame or prayers and family. Although a prayer book may guide a part of his life, stand in the way and the self-same book shall find itself hitting your face with extreme force.
Adam is to be approached and handled with extreme caution. If you're not careful you'll be used without knowing it and thrown aside. Even his friends will have to worry- if they know Locke at all, they'll never let him borrow anything or do a quick favour for him. It'll be one of the biggest mistakes of their lives. With a journey to a land filled with "Barbaric, filthy creatures... With no sense of submission to their human masters," Locke is facing the world head on. And will be taking the rug from under it's feet all the while.
Weaknesses:
1. Utterly disregards people as people and Pokemon as Pokemon, only sees them as tools, leading to weak social skills.
2. Unused to physical work, so may be unable to do hard physical work, such as lifting or running for exceedingly long distances.
3. Dislikes anyone anywhere near his ambition or intelligence- and has a frosty exterior from the outset.
4. Not afraid to use extreme methods to get what he wants.
5. Generally reluctant to do something for nothing.
6. Lusts for power over all else.
7. Not good at catching Pokemon, so will have a small but strong party.
Strengths
1. Totally brutal and remorseless, so good for moral dilemnas.
2. Amazingly intelligent, with brilliant logical skills.
3. A training prodigy, producing powerful and well trained Pokemon, but weak at catching, so may only have a few powerful and well-trained pokemon (i.e max of three)
4. Confidence into arrogance, he's brave and uncharacteristically bold for his stature.
5. Does, in fact, have a shred of good in him.
6. Always keeps a calm and level head.
Physical Appearance:
A handsome face marred by a constantly harsh and serious outlook, Locke has the potential to be what some may call "Dreamy" if only he stops thinking about how he can make money and increase his personal power. He has well kept brown hair, silky and thick in texture, and harsh, uncomprimising grey eyes. He has reasonably pale skin and lips forced into a thin line. His teeth are a gleamy white.
He is quite tall, and has a graceful and elegant body shape, looking flewxible, almost liquid-ish when he walks. His arms reach down to his waist with finely manicured fingernails and dainty pianist's hands. His legs are a part of his graceful demeanor, and has apporpriately proportioned feet. He's lean but not excessively thin. Overall, he could pass for a good-looking guy. If he wanted to be one. And when it suits him. If. If it suits him. At all. He speaks with a posh English accent and don't use slang, innit. He speaks well proper.
Other Information:His motives are of a more selfish nature- as such, his actions later may lead him to a difference in goals with his comrades.
