Nintendo must be messed up or something. You have the choice of Pokeball, a rock, or bait. In order to have a better chance of catching a Pokemon you have to throw a rock at it? Shouldn't it be the other way around? So in order to catch a Pokemon you have to make it not like you?

Anyway, I've caught 1 scyther (seen 2), caught 2 tauros, caught 3 kangashan. Seen some Chancys but it pretty much runs right away.

I think the thing is that he doesnt understand the rock option.

If u think a little u may realize that if you throw a rock to a pokemon it may get angry and get closer to you (the game wont say it, but throwing rocks will sometimes prevent the poke from running away) Its kind like the bait but instead of making the poke happy u piss him off lol.

I could care less really. If given the option to "Shoot" them, I'd do it. At least you can drag their bodies back to a Center and shove it in a ball there. But you can't...so far I've caught both 2 boxfuls of Nidorans....

The rock symbolises that it's getting weak, as you're kinda psychically weakening it - just not actually seeing the damage, since it's in the game, and you can't see it. But... yeah... all it does is really weaken it - theoretically that is. The amount of times I've thrown bait at Chansey that don't run... and they still break out!!! So... it might not always work.

Bait and rock facts i investigated

I think the weakening theory is quite logical. WHat i said was a Symbolization of this theory really, but not exactly what i meant.

I meant that throwing a rock tecnically reduces (or grows)the possibilities for the pokemon to run away in the next turn, as well as the bait, but more dramatically.

With this i mean that if you throw bait, the percentage for the pokemon to run away the next turn will be the same(lets put 5% each turn then returns to normal, then 5% again and so...) each turn (that percentage resets though)

    Example:

    X.Trainer threw bait!

lets put there was a 65% for the pokemon to run away and a 35% for it to stay, the bait will make the percentage of the pokemon to stay by 5%-10%. Soooo the next turn the pokemon makes an action, before the poke does an action, the percentage will be (if it was 10% + for staying) 55% for leaving and 45% for staying.

If the pokemon stays in the battle, the percentage will reset going back to its original amount 65% for going away and 35% for staying.

That means that each turn you throw a bait, the percentage for the poke to stay will grow 5%-10% and the percentage for the poke to leave will decrease that same amount that the satying one grows. But after the poke does the action (that is, the pokes turn finishes and he doesnt run away) these percentages return to the original amount.

    THIS FOR THE BAIT-- UNDERSTOOD?

Ok now for the rock throwing.

Well, its quite the same, but in two possible ways. Throwing a rock MAY grow the percentage for the pokemon to stay or DECREASE it (meaning the poke?s percentage for leaving will grow) Its completely random and more dramatical. If you are succesfull the percentage for staying will grow something like 20%-25%. So the results for throwing a rock are random

Imp.Note--->Another important thing here is that the original percentage for each battle is random.

I HAVE ANALYZED THIS, I KNOW ABOUT CODING AND PROGRAMING. I HAVE ANALYZED THESE FACTS THROUGH THE ENGLISH FIRE RED &LEAF GREEN ROMS (which i will destroy when i buy the game original 30th of september)

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ASK THEM, NO PROBLEM TO ANSWER THEM AT ALL.

I GAURANTEE THESE FACTS ARE TRUE.

So thats all for the moment.

i think it may be to enrage the pokemon, because when one is enraged they make poor decisions in battle. it is a strategy some fighters used, i think. they basically pissed off their oppenent so much that they were out of control and wild, and they made mistakes that the would not have made had they been in their normal state. idk, it may be the same with pokemon

i found out something about the safari too, if you find a stronge or defensive pokemon like rhyhorn use bait, if its weak use bait then ball if it doesnt work do the rock or bait twice
