"Pshhh! You wish! I'll demonstrate." Malon retaliated. She turned around and took in a deep breath.
"NEKO-CHAN! KONEKO CHAN!" she hollared. Withing a minute a large white siberian tiger and a smaller white tabby house cat bounded through the door and tackled Malon. SHe recovered quickly and then stood up holding the tabby in one hand and petting the tiger with the other.
"Vincent, meet Neko-chan." SHe said gesturing to the tiger.

Vincent bowed to the tiger, then turned again to Kiki's friend. "So cats are better than dragons? Why don't I demonstrate?" Vincent walked past them and out the door. "I'll summon one of my lesser dragons."

There was a youma outside. Just as it was about to attack its first victim, Vincent started chanting something in a language no one understood.

"Saevam iram et ferum dolorem, draco."

Suddenly, a black dragon flew out of the sky and fired a fiery blast from its mouth, incinerating the youma. The dragon then disappeared before the normal people could figure out what happened. However, Malon would be watching, so she couldn't have missed it.

"Well? Can cats or turtles breathe fire? Can cats or turtles fly? No. Therefore, dragons are superior to cats and turtles alike. I rest my case."

"Oh yeah? I'm not impressed." Malon said folding her arms. Neko-chan growled. Malon turned placing Koneko-chan down and then sat on top of Neko like you would ride a horse. Neko walked outside and began running. Malon stood upon her tiger as it ran then jumped just before Neko who flipped in the air behind her. Malon landed as she was sitting before on Neko before petting her.
"My shifts over. I'm going home. See ya around Vincent-kun?" she asked winking.

Vincent nodded to Motoki, then skated over to Malon, making sure to check his watch. There was plenty of time.

"That doesn't impress me. I do more extreme stunts on my own. Saevam iram et ferum dolorem, draco." He called the black dragon again, this time riding it to the very tip of the atmosphere. From there, Vincent jumped and did plenty of extreme stunts, some of which were barely humanly possible. The black dragon flew under him at the last moment and flew back up, where Vincent backflipped onto the ground again. The black dragon disappeared again.

"Now I'm impressed. But try to give others some credit okay?" Malon said. She smiled before picking up Koneko, who clearly didn't like Vincent as she hissed at him as she passed, and rode off towards her and Kotoki's house.

Meanwhile Kiki walked up to the door of Haru's home and knocked on the door Haru answering it quickly as she always did.
"Haru-chan!" Kiki cried hugging her best friend.
"Kiki-chan! WHat are you doing here?" she asked as Kiki came inside. Haru was Naru's cousin but sported blonde hair. However she had the same hairstyle.
"I'm visiting with a friend of mine." she smiled.
"You've made a friend already? Man Kiki that's so like you! So friendly!"
"Ya. He's pretty cool."
"He? Is he cute?" Naru asked.
"Huh? Oh I guess. I dunno but you you know Haru I never have really gone for looks."
"Oh? Then explain your crush on Kotoki!" Haru taunted.
"Gosh Haru I was 14! And it wasn't just because he was cute! He was like an older brother to me!" Kiki yelled blushing.
"Suure. An older brother with shiny black hair and a smile that sent you into orbit."
"You read my diary!"
"Sorry Kiki. It was in the bag you left here before you left. When we had that going away party. I couldn't resist." Haru handed Kiki the bag and the two laughed and gave eachother another hug.

"I give credit solely when it is earned. Other than Kiki and her friends, like you, my past has taught me that the world is full of shadow and evil," Vincent replied, making sure that not only Malon understood, but her cat and tiger as well.

"I have little reason, if any at all, to believe differently." With that, he walked a few steps, then stopped. "That dragon.... It's an embodiment of all my raging anger and fierce misery.... For this reason, its power is infinite.... Just as my sorrow is...." Vincent's fists clenched.

I hope that Kiki isn't friends with someone who would betray us.

I seriously doubt that if she does, it would be Malon.

If you say so....

Malon made it home.
"You know he's pretty cool but he needs to look at the world in a different light. She said to Neko. She turned going behind the Crown and the arcade towards Haru's and knocked. Haru let her in and the three talked.
"Oh Malon he's just been through a lot that's all." Kiki said.
"Ya well so have I. I mean, Kotoki works three jobs for cripes sake. Our good for nothing father won't even acknoladge us. We've been supporting eachother scince we were three." Malon scowled.
"But you have to admit he is a nice person." Kiki said.
"Ya but maybe he should stop thinking of himself once and awhile." Neko and Koneko nodded. Haru always let Neko in.

Vincent suddenly appeared behind Kiki, as if he materialized from her shadow. "Perhaps if you experienced true horror, you would understand what caused my soul to be blackened and charred," he countered, his ice blue eyes piercing into Malon's being. He slowly walked toward her, keeping his eyes locked into hers.

"I am the One-Winged Angel. I am both the black-hearted evil and brave-hearted hero. Chaos reigns within my core, and I have long since become one with it. I have no reason to exist, yet I also have every reason. No matter how much I wish for death, it shall never take an immortal. My pain is too much for even I to bear. No matter how much I wish for oblivion, I can never die." By this time, Vincent was no more than an inch away from Malon. The effect of his presense there was incredibly frightening, like the world was about to disappear. Both animal and human would be able to feel this.

"Had you lived my life, you would understand perhaps a little bit of how I feel."

With that, Vincent walked a few steps away, keeping his back to Malon. His cold glare was still on her, though.

"Hic veni.... Da mihi mortem iterum."

"Malon now look what you've done!" Naru said to her friend seemingly oblivious to the cold aura that Vincent gave off and that Kiki, Malon, Neko, and Koneko could feel. She turned to Vincent and smiled.
"I'm sorry for the behavior and rudeness of my friend but please disregard her. She's very sensitive but expresses it differently than most girls." SH gave a warm smile like Kiki's. Kiki sat though her shoulder's up to her ears out of fear. You couldn't see it on her face though. Malon sat motionless a scowl in her eyes and her teeth clenched, her fists bawled up. She was afraid too but she didn't know why nor how to express it besides through anger. Koneko had by now hidden behind the tiger who in turn just gazed at Vincent with a look almost of understanding.

Vincent knelt near the tiger, giving the great cat a sympathetic look. "You, too?" He then turned back to the girls, Naru in particular. She had a strange ability to shrug fear off without knowing. "I don't care if you hide your emotions or show them before me. I'm used to being despised by humanity. It seems that to be forever alone is my destiny, despised and feared by all that live, and all that will live. Who among you will prove me wrong? Who among you can kill an immortal? Come here, and give me death once more." To emphasize his point, he drew his sword and held the point to his own chest, as if he was about to stab through his own heart!

"I cannot bear a life in which I betrayed my only friend!! I cannot bear that my soul has nearly split in two!! If any one of you can destroy me, DO IT!!"

((Just as you did, kokobean22, I'm going to let us have a look into Vincent's mind. Also, it should be Kiki who intervenes. Vincent said that he cannot bear a life in which he "betrayed his only friend." Who better, than, to prove that he does have a purpose in life besides suicide?))

In the landscape of Vincent's mind, it was a barren wasteland, the ground scarred, the sky dark and thundering, the lightning everywhere, the rain absent. The place was void of life, save for a boy, screaming out in his ultimate suffering, and a girl, crying because she couldn't help the soul of her vessel. Chaos reigned here, and only love to make it end.

"Vincent stop!" Kiki and Naru cried together. They seemed to follow a similiar wavelength.
"I don't despise you Vincent. I think you're interesting." Naru plead.
"And I don't hate you for what you did. You're a sweet guy V." Kiki said too. By now the two of then were standing there fingers interlocked in a begging position.
"Please don't do it!" they cried tears flowing.
"Don't be the seconed important person I lose." Kiki finished. Neko walked over rubbing against Vincents legs while Malon and Koneko were still frozen with fear.

Vincent shut his eyes. "I would have betrayed you either way, Kiki.... But that fact doesn't make my life any less painful.... And yet.... You still believe that I'm important to you...."

Vincent took a deep breath, fighting back his own tears. "I once had to bear the Ultimate Suffering.... How could I inflict such pain and torment against others....?"

At that moment, Vincent lifted his sword with one swift movement towards the sky, screaming a battle cry and calling forth the black dragon from before!

"Dragon, you embody all of my pain, sorrow, and rage! If I destroy you, then maybe I can finally recover!!" Vincent turned, in that instant, from suicidal to determined to destroy every source of his pain. This was Kiki's work with the last thing she said.

The dragon seemed to have known that this was coming, but not so soon. It fired a blast of flame from its mouth directly at Vincent, but he didn't care. He drew his other sword, linked it to his other sword to form the dual-blade from before, and spun it furiously to block the flames, sending them right back at the dragon. This only made the dragon stronger, but as Vincent was about to prove, pain cannot overcome love.

Vincent's aura became visible, an ominous silver in color, and he activated his skates. Glaring at the dragon (who glared right back), he raised his sword and skated at top speed towards it. The dragon flew upwards, far into the clouds, and gathered energy for a stronger flame blast.

Vincent jumped on top of one building, then another one, climbing higher with his speed to give him altitude. Finally, the dragon launched its fiery attack, a blast that could destroy all of Japan. Vincent glared up at the dragon's flame and jumped right into it. With the sound of his battle cry, the earth shook and Vincent's sword sliced that flame blast in half, diverting the blast out of harm's way. Using his momentum, Vincent flew higher and higher, catching up with his own dragon, sword raised.

"EGO ABNEGO SERVIO!!!"

Vincent landed and skated along the dragon's back, dragging his sword through the dragon's back as he did, killing it! As the dragon fell, Vincent jumped off, turning his skates off while in midair, and landed safely back outside.

Sheathing his blades after seperating them, Vincent simply remained there. He didn't smile. He didn't cry. He didn't laugh. He didn't even look up. The dragon fell in front of him, disappearing in a poof of black smoke.

Vincent stood silently, his aura fading away.

"Once again.... I am victorious for no reason...."

Naru looked at her house. Malon stood up and looked down Koneko still freaked out. Naru would've made a comment on what her mom would say about the house but disregarded and walked with Kiki outside. They kept their distance from Vincent. Not due to fear bu more because they felt he needed his space to gather himself. A tear fell from Kiki's eye. A tear of joy and thankfullness that she didn't lose another person.
"Be a good girl..." the words echoed in Kiki's head.
"I promise daddy. I promise." she said softly. Naru understood and hugged her friend reassuringly.
"And not once have you broken that promise." Naru stated.

Vincent raised his hand, where a glowing sphere of power was forming. He fired at the house, and it was returned to the way it was, down to the last detail, to just before Vincent had drawn his sword. He then staggered towards Kiki, obviously drained from this battle and casting that regeneration spell. He managed to whisper two words in her ear.

"Thank you...."

Then he fainted, unable to hold onto his consciousness any longer. He needed rest before he tried to walk again, or he might break something.

In his dreams, Vincent experienced his nightmare again, but it didn't end the same way. His dark brother was about to bring his sword down for the kill, but a white sword, the sword of the Moon Princess, stopped him. Kiki stood there, as Sailor Moon, with a truly fierce expression on her face. "You will not harm him! Begone from his dreams!" The dark Vincent evaporated, and the scene changed to a very peaceful setting.

Vincent turned to Sailor Moon, who had put her blade away. She was smiling. "Your nightmares are over.... My love." Vincent thought that perhaps he misheard, but Sailor Moon raised her hand. "You heard me correctly." Vincent felt stunned with happiness. Perhaps he could finally move on now....

((And no, I'm not controlling Kiki. That was my character's dream.))

Kiki and Naru picked up Vincent best they could and placed him on Neko who walked him inside and placed him on Naru's bed. Naru sat by him and Kiki walked into the living room. Malon was crying.
"I guess he's not the only selfish one." Kiki smiled wiping tears from her eyes. Malon nodded before running up and hugging Kiki. They cried on eachother's shoulders before sitting back down.
"I'm tired." Kiki said blankly. She walked to Naru's couch and slept.

Vincent awoke at that moment, but he was still very groggy. He noticed Kiki asleep on the couch. That's not right.... Kiki should have the bed, not I....

Vincent attempted to get up, but couldn't. He tried again, successful this time, and staggered over to Kiki. He gently picked her up and laid her on Naru's bed, then leaned over on the couch, fainting again.

Why.... Why are they being so nice to someone like me....? I don't understand it....

I think they must be fond of you.

Naru noticed Vincent getting up but decided not to intervene. She grabbed a bllanket and put it over him before sitting in another chair. Malon sat on a loveseat accross from Naru and the two waited.

Meanwhile Kiki slept in Narru's bedroom. She wasn't really tired. Her mind needed break and she wore it out even more by crying so Intel had ordered a temporary shutdown.

Vincent awoke about thirty minutes later and sat up quickly. He looked out the window and saw that it was getting close to a noticable sunset. "Malon.... When does Kiki's mother normally set dinner on the table?" he asked, standing.

That's odd. Since when do you care about food?

I don't. I was looking forward to showing Kiki's mother how my speed is absolute.

"6:35 on the dot." Kiki by now had awakened too and was talkign with Naru in her room, "Bet her you could make it back before dinner?" Malon questioned a sly look on her face. SHe had done that once. Drove Kiki to the mall saying if Kiki wasn't back she'd pay her mom twenty dollars. SHe lost the bet.

"Exactly," Vincent said. He noticed that there was a storm approaching fast. There must have already been a notice on TV about it while he rested. "Malon, Naru, take your honored pets and hide below. It looks like I'll have to take Kiki back home in the middle of one of the most violent lightning storms Japan has ever seen."

It was already 6:15.
