"I'm no 'nut job,' Intel," Vincent said, somehow hearing her whenever she screamed at the top of her lungs. He didn't understand it, either.
"I'll tell you what I'll do," he said, smirking. "Intel, if you die of fright, I'll pay the funeral bills. Deal?" He didn't wait for Intel's answer. He calmly opened the door and set his skates to their greatest speed. Tonight he'd set a new record for the fastest thing alive. He then got an idea.
Pulling out his cell phone, Vincent called Kiki's home. When Kiki's mother answered, he'd say, "Hey, it's Vincent. I thought I'd raise the stakes a bit. There's going to be a lightning storm directly in our path, as I'm sure you already know if you've been watching the news. The greatest lightning storm Japan has ever seen.
Kiki told me that dinner was at 6:35. If we make it at 6:34 or earlier, then you have to make all of Kiki's favorite foods. If I fail, then I'll pay all of your bills in full for the next month and sleep outside tonight." He then hung up.
"Oops," he said, laughing. "It would seem that the lightning storm is interfering with my cell phone's connection. Hey, Kiki, I'm willing to bet that you at least wish you could do that sometimes." Laughing, Vincent sped off at an insane speed. By the time they were out of Japan, a trail of flames was chasing after them!
The lightning struck randomly, but as Vincent and Kiki were in the middle of the storm, they had everything to worry about. Vincent had to do all kinds of dodging and evading just to make sure they barely missed the bolt of power from the sky.
"The lightning must really hate me," Vincent said. He had this incredible grin on his face.
He was having the time of his life!
