Say 'NO' to bootleg Pok?mon movie...and other anime.

heh, Magical Sonny. Well, i don't do bootleg anything, since it annoys me. I watched a bootleg Pokemon 2000, which wasn't so bad, but th3e picture wasn't all that great.

yah, pokemon have different chinese names too! thank god pikachu is still called "pikachu". charmander's called "little fire dragon" (literal translation from chinese) "xiao hwo long" bulbasaur is "meow hwa zhong zhi", literal translation is flower seed. weird ain't it?

Yeah, I see the Magical Sonny's/Pok?mon's name are different when I was watching the movie. Maybe I should make a list of the names they used in their engrish subtitle.

Oh, you (or anybody else) haven't answer one of my question about Mew and Mewtwo's name. LOL
 
Whoever translated that is seriously in need of:
A) some serious English lessons.
B) some understanding of the Pokemon concept.

Left screenshot (literal): "I am an human-made Sang Khee Poo Poej."
In Cantonese vocabulary, the word "artificial" does not exist. They use the word "human-made" instead.
So basically Mewtwo is saying: "I'm an artificial Pokemon" or "I'm a Pokemon made by humans."

Center screenshot (literal): "Not a Sang Khee Poo Poej also."
As you can see, this line is really messed up when translating it literal. A better line would be (at least that's how I would translate): "Therefore, I'm not even a Pokemon."

Right screenshot (literal): "You want to rob others Sang Khee Poo Poej."
Well, I guess this one is obvious: "You're planning to steal others Pokemon?"

i was saying mine in mandarin, hope that wasn't confusing. i dunno...if it makes a difference if the translators are in cantonese or mandarin. most subtitled anime come from hongkong.

yes...they do need english lessons. i don't think they even know pokemon. there is no reason for the names. :P it's like asking...why is lugia called lugia? :P if you can write it out for me...i can go figure it out. unless someone else already did. (writing out mew and mewtwo's chinese names, cause i can't tell what you are writing from english/chinese ect;)
