Well this is something that has always happened to me. I've never been able to stick with something. But I've had an impulse to love Pokémon again 7 weeks ago. It's lasted a while. But I'm so scared that I'll loose interest.. Do you think I could lose interest in Pokémon? Is there any way to avoid losing interest?

I'm not really sure if this is in the right spot.

But if anyone can help me to stay interested in Pokémon, I'd like that.

Though it seems like it's not going to stop. It might stop soon. And If I lost interest. I'd just be devestated.. All the things I bought..

Definitely. I really love Pokemon & I wouldn't like my interests about it to disappear or gradually decrease...

    I know what you mean...
I've played, watched, created Pokemon for some time now & I don't like to think my interests of it getting depleted.
Hold on to it for as long as you can...

Trust me on this, you start growing up and becoming older you will start losing interest in Pokemon. I only recently started watching/reading Pokemon again. It had been a 5 years hiatus. I'm more into shows like the Sopranos, Californication, LIFE, Chuck, Dexter, Rescue Me, etc...As you grow older you'll want to watch different things and do different things. For me at the moment, because I am almost 18 I don't have the same interest I had when I was 10. It's bound to happen, it's a cycle in our lives. Psychologists often say that a lot of childhood interests will usually fade away because they will be replaced by new interests.

I lost interest for years... and then last year I got back into it well and truly! I bought Emerald and Pearl, bought a few cards to get going, and am now ploughing through the films as I had never seen them before!

    That is so true, ShadowWind.
Even if you lose interest in the games, Squirtle (Which I tend to do), the forums are still appealing, because they are "alive", compared to the games. You discuss things. You realize that you are not alone enjoying pokemon. As long as you stay in here, I think that you might renew your interest in the pocket monsters. It sure works for me :)

I've lost interest a few times before, which explains the huge gaps of my activity on this forum (and, you figure, I joined almost two years ago, yet I don't even have 200 posts yet). It's just a thing that kinda happens, though. I've restarted Ruby and Sapphire a couple of times, and I plan on buying a new copy of FireRed soon (since I lost my old one), so my interest has come back again. It really never goes away completely; I just don't play the games as much at certain times.

Also, I'm going to buy an N64 again off of Amazon or something, and when I do, I plan on buying both Pokemon Stadiums, and Pokemon Snap. Those games were really fun, and I've missed playing them (really, I miss the N64 in general, since I haven't had one in a while). I love nostalgia. =P

You don't need to be scared about losing interest. It's just change, and change will always happen and is nothing to be scared of. The things I loved 10 years ago, 5 years ago, even last year, many of them are no longer things I'm still interested in. But new things have come along to take their place, things I enjoy very much and am glad I got interested in. When one door closes, another one opens.

I cannot help you, but I understand you.
The only way I know of, probably will not help.

I understand that it sux to lose interest in somethin. I lost interest in pokemon in grade 5 and the interest was not found again untilsix years later. Now I can compare it with things I enjoy and the interest remains.

Example: I campare some pokemon with Metal.

To this day I have still have strong urges to buy Lego sets.

The same thing happens with Pokemon. I don't really care about it but then I see one that looks awesome and I'm right back into it!

I'm not afraid of losing interest. I seem to only lose interest in TV shows. Video games seem to keep my interest even with my parents having told me I was too old (at 13) for the following things:
    Super Mario
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Pokemon
    Legend of Zelda
    and video games in general.
I'm still interested in each of those quite a bit. Its possible that I'm still a child at heart at 20 years old, but if thats the case, I don't care.

My intrest in the Franchise has actually increased over the years.

Since it's 1998 appearence in America, I've been aware of Natures, EVs, IVs, and other little things, like the Many Japanese Myths/Legends and Pieces of Japanese Culture that some of the Pokemon are directly based off of.

    EX:
    Myths/Legends: Dunsparce(Tsuchinoko), Froslass(Yuki-onna)
Culture: Bronzong(Dōtaku), Wobbuffet(Late Comedian Sanpei Hayashiya)

I have over 5000 cards, around 50 Action Figures, numorous VHS Tapes*, and every Blue-Like version and 3rd Game ever.

Plus I import Cards alot, as I did with my Platinum.

*I lost intrest in the Anime a LONG while ago, although I remember alot from it.

Some people are true fans and stick with Pokemon for decades, some go on and off and are undecided, I'm a true fan, I've loved it since I was 7.

    Me: A Complete PokeFreak

If you set a goal for yourself in a Pokemon game, that might motivate you. Or, if you see a piece of merchandise you want, that might help too. For instance, I saw the Giant Lugia Plush. I loved it. I wanted it. I own XD, but I had lost interest in playing for a long time, but after I saw the Lugia plush, I wanted Lugia on my Diamond game, but I had to finish XD. Now, I'm more addicted to Pokemon then ever, especially XD.

    Lol! I'm crazy!
