scars

I have a few:

1) the middle finger on my right hand where I burned myself bad with a sparkler when I was 5.

2) On the base of my chin when I had a bicycle accident when I was 8. I was biking home from school, then suddenly my bike went up and my chin went right into the sidewalk. Five stitches.

3) On the inner-heel of my right foot, there's an ulcer scar. I got it when I broke my leg when I was 18 (just two weeks before high school graduation) and the cast wasn't put on right, creating a nasty-looking pressure ulcer.

I have a pretty big scar stretching down my back, and a few smaller ones around it, a faint one on my face and on my shoulder from a car accident a couple of years ago.

I have a permanent scar above my right eye, next to my eyebrow, that was the result of tripping and crashing into a cabinet when I was in Pre-K.

I didn't like it when adults payed attention to me when I hurt, so I tried to hide it. I even tried to put a Band-Aid on it (although I had no mirror so my aim was way off).

It worked too, because nobody noticed until after I got home. I had to go to the hospital and get it glues back together. No stitches! They did put this weird eye patch looking bandage on me, and I remember mentally preparing myself to have that thing on me for the rest of my life.

Luckily that never happened and all that's left 13 years later is a small dent above my right eye.

Although I will be getting a couple surgeries in the next couple years, which will inevitably leave scars, although they will be under my clothes so nobody will see them.

At any given moment I will have multiple scratches from my cat, because the poor thing has no idea that his paws are pointy when he tries to play with me.

I have a few scars. When I was like 10 I was playing outside and running, then tripped. I scraped my hand that left a scar for several years, but looking at it now it's barely visible. The only burn scar I have is when trying to cook, my arm accidentally brushed on the pan / baking sheet that came straight out of the oven. It's probably 3 years ago and still faintly visible. My most recent scar is from 2 years ago when I needed to get 9 stitches on my left eyebrow. I blacked out briefly while in the shower. When I gained conscious I woke up realizing I knocked down the shower curtain and fell face first on the bathroom tile floor. Doc wasn't sure why I passed out besides fatigue and a minor issue with my heart. The scar is still visible and throws off my eyebrow because it does not follow the natural eyebrow arch. Guess it was better than having a busted nose.
