Question: Selling on Pokecommunity

    Hey I wanted to make sure I wasn't making an infraction to the rules. So I'm wondering is it alright to post about wanting to buy or sell things relating to pokemon, like DSs, pokemon games, etc, etc? Just want to make sure before I jump the gun.

    That was a good question you got cleared up. It's a good thing you asked before posting. I'd like to suggest that we add this to the rules threads just to be clear, as long as all the staff members do agree. (Sadly, it's not my call, but theirs)
     
    The thing is, there was something against the rules relating to selling and buying a while ago. But since last year I've rechecked them, that part was gone.

    On literal terms, that wouldn't be against the rules. Although older members have recognized the rules well enough to not check them once in a while. Problem is that the part against Buying and Selling is not there. And I don't think individual forums have anything either.

    Yeah... that rule is mentioned in at least one board.

    Although apparently not expressed in the general rules, I'm certain the same goes for selling any and all Pokémon merchandise throughout the forums.
     
    Ok, The TCG Section's got the forum rule (People still care about the cards? D:) However, some people might have interest for other merchandise that are not cards. The general rules apply to the forum as a whole unless overruled by a section rule.

    Section rules apply only to the section, and don't affect any other section. Since the general rules have nothing either, it's technically not against any rule to post Buy/sell threads outside of the TCG section, since that is about the only section with such mention.
     
    This is why I suggested we add this rule to the general forum rules, so newcomers will be forewarned, that we don't allow selling here.

    But I suppose that rule will be pending further staff discussion...so yeah we might have to wait on the staff to decide for certain that it's a global rule
     
    Though.. I guess if you became a supporter.. selling stuff on your Pokecommunity blog would be alright.. wouldn't it?
     
    I don't see any reason it shouldn't be allowed....as long as it's kept from being spammy and staff can't be held responsible for any scamming(like the Trade Center....)
     
    We could have a section for the buying and selling of goods. This would be useful since people here are mostly all Pokemon fans so they if one is looking to sell Pokemon merchandise this would be a good market to them.
     
    I honestly hate this idea since it puts more responsibility on the staff.

    Not only that, but this is a forum full of kids! You can't legally transact with minors online without parental consent. >_>
