[Other] Seriously, this board is more deserted than anything else, where is the new place to be for Pokémon ROM hackers?

@McPaul

1: Pokecommunity is still the best place to go as far as I know. Binary hacking is just a way of ROM hacking that is getting surpassed by the decompilation projects. Many (experienced) ROM hackers moved to that, because it's more convenient and has less drawbacks than binary hacking. Most people just don't want to invest a lot of time in binary hacking anymore, since there is something better available.

2: A lot of people probably just don't know the answer.

3: You're probably asking for things that haven't been done before and there is no exact documentation about on the forums. Just asking for a certain feature you want to add and blandly asking how to do it won't result in much reaction. People probably want to see you've put in effort yourself and miss knowledge or documentation on a very specific part.

4: You're probably asking for things that are very easy to answer if you would have basic knowledge of binary hacking. There are plenty of tutorials available around these forums in which a certain question or problem is probably explained. If you don't take time en effort to go through these tutorials to expand your knowledge, people probably won't take the time and effort to answer your questions.

Rationalize for yourself which applies to the questions you posted;)

No, that's not true. I said that many ROM hackers moved, not necessarily all. If you're starting ROM hacking now I'd recommend to use the decomps/C injection though.

Let's say there are around 100 experienced ROM hackers (just a guess). Only a small part of them is active on the forums/Discord. Only a small part of those who are active one the forums are willing to help beginning ROM hackers. And those willing to help beginning ROM hackers are probably expecting the points I explained to you in the previous post. That leaves not a lot of people from who you could get help.

Everything here is all done voluntarily. People who help you literally have no other incentive than that they genuinely want to help, but those people also have other things to do in life. I'd recommend not to expect too much from them, otherwise you could come out disappointed. You'll need to learn most things by yourself through tutorials that are available on the forums.
