4th Gen Shedinja Help

But the case is always that if a Pokemon's HP would drop to 0% from using Substitute, the move would fail -___-

How is the shedinjas nature determined?

Shedinja's nature, moves and IVs are the same as the Ninjask's that it formed from. This means two things - Shedinja can get cool moves such as Swords Dance by evolving Nincada on the exact level that Ninjask learns Swords Dance, so it would learn Swords Dance right after it evolves and therefore Shedinja would also know it, since it is formed after the Pokémon finishes evolving.

The second is that evolving a shiny Nincada into a Ninjask under the right conditions would also net you a free shiny Shedinja :P

Ah, you thought it would be awesome and have like 400 HP or something /and/ Wonder Guard. Things don't work that way, haha.

No I just thought its HP would go up like everyother pokemon but now I hate my Shedinja! I can't use it on Wi-Fi! It gets killed by Rotom's Ominous Wind! I freakin hate that thing!

In game battle:
SHEDINJA used Substitute!
It was too weak too make a substitute.

Wait, if a Shedinja knew and used Substitute, wouldn't it die right off the bat?

Well then whenever your opponent sends out a Pokémon which is likely to use a Rock/Fire/Dark/Ghost/Flying move you simply switch it out, right?

And dying right off the bat is exactly why it fails. Most moves which lower the user's HP fail if it would KO the user (exceptions include Ghost Curse).

Umm, can a Mold Breaker Rampardos hurt Shedinja, even though the attack is not super effective?

Yes it can, but rampardos isnt very keen on being hit on his teeney defences by a poke that almost always carries swords dance and priority moves. However it is enough to phaze in some cases, and defiantely leaves Shedinja vulnerable should you be carrying a sash.

A Focus Sashed/Rock polish Rampardos works just fine against shedinja

2 consecutive-STABed-SD boosted-prioritised Shadow sneaks suggest the contrary.

But While the shedinja does its first shadow sneek I would just crunch, Rampardos also works on Sandstorm teams so it would not have the Focus Sash to keep it alive.

It depends on who is in first:
1.Shedinja uses SD
Rampardo Switches in
2.Shedinja use Shadow Sneak
(Rampardos Loses Sash)
2.Rampardos uses Crunch
(Shedinja Loses Sash)
3.Shedinja uses Shadow Sneak
Rampardos Faints

Or....

1.Rampardos uses Rock Polish
Shedinja switches in
2.Rampardos uses Crunch
(Shedinja loses sash)
Shedija uses SD
3.Shedinja Uses Shadow Sneak
(Rampardos Loses Sash)
Rampardos uses Crunch
Shedinja faints

So if shedinja's in first, he has the advantage, and vice versa. Saying that I havent run the calcs, so shedinja may be able to 2HOKO without an SD boost, in which shedinja is in an even better situation. Either way both pose a danger to each other =]

Sandstorm would already be in play though. You completely ignored that in your analysis so re do!

There are no sandstorm starters in UU, which is the only place both of these pokes would come up against each other. If we are hypothesising that this is OU then shedinja has a lot more to worry about than crappy old rampardos.

Sure but not all people tier battle. What ever makes you feel best.

Meh, if it's not tiered then it isnt competetive, where there are no standards and you're likely to come up against every which Uber and NU. It's not a predictable environment so it's pointless trying to theorise any situation.

It can still be standard no Ubers. Thats how I play anyway because UU pokemon are under estimamated and if used right can still keep up with OU pokemon, Im sure you know this but this convo is over now.
