    Is Sheik a boy or girl i have heard people say both and i think shiek is a girl...
     
    Debate thread, lol.

    Some people say she's a boy because "Nintendo confirmed it". (can someone give me a link?)
    I say she's a girl; she's actually Zelda's "disguise/alter ego" when she tried to hide from Ganondorf. (unless she can change her sex by transforming)
     
    There is no debate, there is no opinion. She is female. In fact, it was meant to be almost as big as a suprise as when we found that Samus was a female. Back then, of course.

    If you need proof, play Ocarina of Time. There is also no need for a link to confirm it, as it is common knowlegde by now--the game came out in the eairly nineties. So Nintendo confirmed it a LOOOONG time ago. No debate, no opinion, no "what if", she is a female. That's it. No strings attached.
     
    Someone told me that sheik was a guy who died but is able to come back to life when Zelda summons his body 0.0
    I thinki sheik has no determined gender
     
    That guy lied. Nintendo said, she is a girl. If you ever played the game, you would obviously tell.


    As I said, this is not a matter of opinion, nor is it an "I think" topic. This also isn't a debate. Fact is, she is a girl. Zelda was part of the Sheiketh tribe, and transforms into Sheik. that's like asking whether or not Obama is really a male or not. She even looks like a girl.

    You gotta play the game before making opinions.
     
    She's a she. Like sims796 said, there's really no debate in this. Sheik is female, the end.
     
    I typed this post yesterday, but anyways...

    Sheik is supposed to represent a boy, while Zelda is a girl. You can see it as Zelda (the girl) cosplaying Sheik (the boy). Although it's more complicated then that. In the Manga (chapter 3 of volume 2) It is said that thanks to Impa's magic, Zelda's consciousness was locked away, so she could fully hide from Ganondorf. She became a boy (she said: I will become a boy) so Ganondorf wouldn't recognise him/her.
    As you might have noticed, Zelda's eyes are blue, Sheik's eyes are red. Which means they are the same, yet totally not. xD
     
    Here's my take on it all... Zelda is really a crossdressing boy. The kingdom needed a "Princess" yet the king and queen only had a boy. So thus to fix this prob they raised their son as a girl to be the princess the kingdom needs, and thus Zelda is born. XD


    But really. Sheik is a girl... I mean Zelda is a girl... so I would hope that makes her "dark side" a girl as well.

    Yes. There really isn't a debate. Here is your answer, as you & Triforce said it perfectly.

    The character of Sheik is a boy. Zelda, a girl, is portraying herself as a boy. Like that Amanda bynes movie, "She's the Man". She was potraying a boy, but technically, "Sebastian" was a girl.

    Same with Sheik. The answer, with no debate, is that the "character" of Sheik is a boy, potrayed by a girl. Sheik is technically a girl, only being passed off as a boy. Mudkipblader was right in saying what he said, however, no matter how ya dress it up, as long as Sheik is technically Zelda, "he" is a girl, although the "persona" of Sheik is a boy.



    Also, there shouldn't be a poll. As said, this is a matter of fact, not opinion. You can say "I think Tom Cruise is a girl!", give all your reasons for that opinion, but in the end, he's a boy, no matter what we think, or if God made the mistake of giving him male genitalia. Especially if you never played the game, or at least read the manga.

    Once again, this is a definitive answer, unless I got a fact misread. Unless you've played the game, ya can't really put in an opinion. If you did, and can show me the points where I was wrong, then this is the solid answer.

    Zelda's a girl and she uses Shiek as her alter ego, disguised as a male. But even still, it's just a crossdressing scenario, so she's still female. Similiar to Yellow in PokeSpecial.

    Regardless, you are right. At least have some form of Zelda media, or some grasp of Zelda history before you give any arguements, otherwise you are arguing fact.
     
    I grew up knowing Sheik as a male. In OoT, Princess Ruto referred to Sheik as a man:

    "Zora's Domain--totally frozen! A young man named Sheik saved me from under the ice..."
    "If you see Sheik, please give him my thanks, OK?"

    So technically, there is a woman beneath those clothes.

    I don't think that's a very reliable source. I mean, they call Samus' Varia Suit her Power Suit. :/
